In former times, advances were according to research. Today advances are according to standardized pathology for good, that is to redefine prioritization values similar to the way vertical marketing overcame the traditional buy / sell paradigm (:ANC/various input).
Profit is no longer the point. When a product it is often plain to see, yet when education fails, the proof is less evident. When profits fail, it is not an excuse to cheat.
When current businesses flee Iraqi terrorists, forsaking great profits, such businesses are not chicken, they are merely not foolish and that makes them great leaders, bold and courageous. If Republicans do not provide just cause, then just as in the days of Roman domination, follow the better cause: money can't buy happiness for a dead body. And money is not so important when your head is being chopped-off for hidden political reasons (:ANC).
In the Middle East in recent years, the US spent Billions of dollars funding nations known to be harboring or sponsoring terrorists (:Readers Digest/archives).
In any walk of life you have to take a stand, but that's not enough, you have to actively pursue a bettering of civilization. The ASNT Certificate above is just such an example. Not perfect, yet at least doing something in peace and love rather than merely for blood profit.
Businesses need to standardize profitmaking lest profitmaking be outlawed by and according to their own self-serving works.
