BROOKE McROBERTS:
After graduating from UNL in 1994 with a Biology/Pre-Med degree, Brooke tossed aside ideas of med school and moved to New York City to continue pursuing her music. Ray can be thanked for being a huge influence in this decision. Performing with Scarlet and Cream brought so much joy to her life, she just couldn’t give it up!
Since moving to New York Brooke has performed in numerous regional theaters and has had a few close calls with Broadway. Some favorite shows are: Jekyll & Hyde, My Fair Lady, Children of Eden, and Marry Me a Little.
Over the past few years, Brooke has also dabbled in songwriting. After 9/11, she wrote a tribute song “NEVER FORGET,” that was sold to benefit a South African family whose father was lost in the World Trade Center. She was able to raise $3,500 for the family.
Brooke is a member of the Contemporary Choir at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she cantors weekly. She also wrote a mass that has been used at her church since January. She is hoping to get it published.
Brooke continues to audition for musical theater and is currently working in a classical quartet (piano/violin/vocals) – with a Christmas album in the works! She is also working on a piano/vocal jazz duo and hopes to be performing in some clubs in New York later this summer.
