TEXT FROM THE GALA’s “SCRIPT”:
[The INTRO penned and announced by Jon Ranard for “THE WAY WE WERE!”]

Several traditions have been established during the 33 years of Scarlet and Cream’s
existence, many of which center around a small set of specific songs that are
performed each and every year.

One of these special songs is THE WAY WE WERE,
specifically arranged for the Scarlet and Cream Singers by
former member Bob “Bucky” Buchholz in 1973.

Since that time, every single member of the Scarlet and Cream Singers
has performed this original arrangement.

And it is with great pride that we honor Ray and Carol Miller,
along with the late Bob Buchholz,
by asking ALL the Scarlet and Cream alums that are with us tonight
to join us onstage for this special song.
