TRAVIS & DENISE TURPIN BIOs FROM THE SCRIPT FOR THE GALA

Travis has been performing full time since graduating from UNL in 1994.
He started out performing at a theme park in Texas for a year;
then performed for 1 and 1/2 years on a Cruise Ship;
and then moved to New York City where he pursued a Musical Theater career.

He enjoyed some success in New York City; gaining regional theater gigs around the nation, working with people like Howard Keel and Ken Page. His first leading role was as
“The Big Bopper” in the National Tour of “The Buddy Holly Story.”

[Ray & Carol attended and enjoyed his performance when the Buddy Holly
touring company played Des Moines on April 1st, 2000.]

Soon after returning from that 12-month tour, Travis spent 8 months touring with “The Civil War Musical” as the “Northern Captain” understudy, performing opposite Larry Gatlin.

Since 2002, Travis has been performing on Cruise Ships and working on a
Headlining Duet Act with his incredibly gorgeous and talented wife, Denise.

Denise is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
(Travis begs that we Huskers don’t hold that against her!)

She began singing professionally with a Jazz & Blues trio straight out of high school. In 1997 she moved to Nashville and worked at the Opryland Theme Park and Hotel, where she and Travis first met. They performed together in the Tennessee Country Christmas Show at the Opryland Hotel.

Denise moved to New York City and landed a job within 4 months; Headlining at the Alabama Theater, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. While touring with Civil War, Travis came to Myrtle Beach for a visit, and ‘twas there that they fell in love.

All together now … “AAAAHHHH!!!”

On July 25th 2005 Travis and Denise will celebrate their 2nd Wedding Anniversary.
Denise says, “I hope we have a long successful marriage like Ray and Carol.
50 years is truly awesome!”

Travis and Denise are enjoying a well-deserved break right now; spending the summer with Family and Friends, before they both ship-out with Celebrity Cruises again in the fall.

I cannot BELIEVE that these Monkeys DON’T have a WEBSITE YET!!!
