Chapter 27
*Nick*
As the blackness went away, there we tons of nurses around me helping me up. “Mr. Carter why don’t you tell your girlfriend, what is going on.” the doctor said.
“Uh.. Nat,” I started trying not to wobble. She looked at me so concern. “We had triplets.” I said as she started to cry. I ran to her side and we hugged. We gave each other kisses, when the doctor came up to us with two of the babies. Nat’s eyes were lit up so much. “You had two boys and a girl. This one of the boys and the baby girl, the other boy was so tiny that we had to rush him to make sure that everything is alright. I’m going to give these two to the nurses and clean up, and then you two can see all of your kids alright?” he said. Nat nodded, but then she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

A little while later, I walked into Nat’s room, she was sleeping. I closed the door slowly, and she mumbled something. “What baby?” I asked. She slowly opened her eyes.
“How’s the babies?” she asked smiling.
“I don’t know, I went to get something to drink. But one nurse said that all three should be here soon.”
“Good. So are you happy?” she asked. “Yeah, but it scares me on how we are going to take care of them. I am going to love them, but we are going to need so much help.” I said.
“I know, your family said that they will help.” she said with such a face that I had to give in to her. I smiled. “Alright, I believe you.” she smiled and looked at the door. “Their coming soon.” I said holding her hand. “Come into the bed, you look cold.” she said.
Once I got into the bed, the door opened and two nurses wheeled in three small beds. “Mr. Carter, Ms. Sean, here are your babies.” she said picking one up. “This is the first born, a boy.” she said handing him to Nat. “and this is the second a girl.” she said handing her to me. I looked down at my baby girl who had the brightest blue eyes ever and smiled at her. She yawned. I laughed at her.
Then the nurse picked up the smallest. “This is the last, a boy. Umm.. Who wants to hold two?” she asked. Nat looked at me and I handed her, our baby girl, and the nurse handed me the boy.
“I’m going to leave you two be, I’ll be back later, to help you Natalie with the feeding.” Nat smiled and looked back down at the babies. “They all have blue eyes, I mean bright blue.” she said looking at me. I looked down at the tiny baby and looked at his eyes. “This one had brown.” I said. She looked at him and smiled. “This one is going to be the different one.” she said.
“Yeah.” I said as the door opened. And my mom walked in. “Hey.” she said walking in. “Can I hold one?” she asked.
“Yeah take the tiny one.” I said handing her the baby. I stole the other boy from Nat, she put her sad face at me. “Oh stop it, you have your baby girl.” she laughed.
“So who’s who?” My mom asked. Nat looked at me. “Well, the girl’s first name is Lexi.” She said.
“How cute. What about this one?”
“Mom we just kind of knew the girl’s name. We will get there soon.” I said kissing Nat on the cheek.
“Alright, well he’s a cutie. They all are.” she said whispering.
My mom stayed and talked for awhile and left to go pick up my brother and sisters. After she left I looked at Nat who wad now holding the tiny one. I had the other boy in my arms. “Nat, we need names for all of them, and I think soon.” I said. She looked at me. “Your right, you name the oldest like I said.”
“What about Michael?” I asked. She smiled. “Michael what?”
“Thomas?” I asked. “Sounds good.”
“What about him?” I asked pointing to the last child un named.
“Well, I like the name Andrew.” She said.
“That sounds good.. How about Andrew James?” I asked.
“Perfect.” she said smiling. But then she looked down at the sleeping Lexi. “What about her middle name?” she asked picking her up, putting down Andrew. “Umm.. That’s a good question.” I said.
“Nick come up with something. I think she’s going to be daddy’s little girl.” she said putting her back down and sitting by me.
“What about, umm.. Lexi Marie? Or Lexi Ann?” I asked. Not really thinking. I don’t think.
“Lexi Ann sounds good, very good.” She said smiling and walking to our little Lexi. “My baby girl, how happy I am about having at least a baby girl.” she said looking at me. “Hey the outer package may be damaged, but hey, I live with it all.” She laughed. “I love you Nicky.” She said walking up to me and sitting on the bed. “I love you too.” I said and I pulled her closer to me, and we just sat there watching, Michael sleeping, Lexi yawning, and Andrew staring off in space. “Andrew’s like his daddy, lost.” Nat giggled. “Hey.” I said hitting her lightly on the side. “Hey guys, she’s always going to gang up on us, but now she’s going to have help with Lexi here. So we got no where to run.” he said to the babies.
“And I said I love you Nicky.” she said yawning. “You tired too? Dude what’s with this family? One sleeps, one yawns, and then the mother yawns. While two of us sit here off in space.”
“Like I said, he’s just like his daddy.” she said kissing my cheek. “Go to sleep, rest your head on me, and I’ll watch them.” I said. “You sure?” she asked looking at me. “Yeah, you just had three babies, three beautiful babies. You deserve to sleep.” I said taking her and pulling her onto my chest.
“Alright, just wake me when the nurse comes.” “I will.” I said into her hair.
