Chapter 12
*nat*
It had been two weeks since we went back out. We were in my living room on the couch kissing. We hadn’t talked about the subject of Brian I just ignored it. I don’t know why I just did. Like I said we were kissing, alone in my house. I was on top of Nick and touching him all over. We were both pretty much into it. He was doing the same all over me.
We were so into it that we both didn’t notice that my mom came home. She said that ahem thing and both me and Nick were up and sitting on separate sides of the couch.
“Nat, I need you to get me something’s at the store. Could you go and get them?”
“Yeah sure.”
“Alright I’m going to make the list and then I’ll give you the money and it.”
“Alright mom.” I said as she left.
Nick looked at me and we both just laughed. My mom came back in the room.
“Here you go Nat.”
“Alright, Nick you want to come with?”
“Sure.” He said.
“Actually Nat, I would like to talk to Nick about something.”
“Alright mom. You okay with that?” I said looking at Nick.
“Yeah.”
“Okay, I’ll be back soon.”
I walked out of the house and got in my car and left.

I watched as Nat left. I wish that I went with since I didn’t know what her mom was going to say to me since she saw us practically doing things we shouldn’t of.
“Nick come with me.”
“Sure.” I said getting of the couch and following her. We went into the Den a place that I knew oh to well. She went into a drawer and took out something I sat on the couch.
“Nick, I’ve noticed that you and Nat have well gotten a little to well you know.”
“Yeah. We’ll stop if you want.”
“No, I’m not saying stop I’m saying that if you have the urge to do that then use condoms. Or something. I trust you guys to do whatever you need to do, but don’t do it all the time.” She said handing me the condoms.
“Um.. Thanks.” I was just surprised that Nat’s mom acted so different about this.
“I just want to ask you one question.”
“What?”
“Have you two ever done it yet?”
“Um.. Yeah, we have. Twice. That’s it.”
“Oh alright. Now Nick I’ll let you go and watch tv and wait for Nat to come home. Just use those please.”
“Alright.”
I walked into the living room and turned on their tv. I felt pretty weird sitting in Nat’s house without her there but I could get used to it. The phone rang a little while later. I sat there almost falling asleep when her mom came into the living room.
“Nick?” She said.
I opened my eyes and saw her standing there looking worried. “Yes?”
“Could you drive me to the hospital my umm.. Sister is in the hospital and I’m to shaken up to drive.”
“Yeah sure. I’ll go bring the car into the driveway. Your going to tell Nat where we went right?”
“Yeah, I’ll do that right now.”
She did look a little to worried. I didn’t get it.
I just got in the car. I was wondering why Nat never told me about her aunt or aunts. Maybe a bad subject to talk about. Anyway, she got in the car. I turned on the radio a little bit and drove to the hospital.
“You okay?” I said as we were a few stops away from the hospital.
“Yeah. I’m fine.”
I drove into the hospital dropping off zone and she looked at me. “Nick I think you should come in with me.”
“Are you sure? I mean I wouldn’t want to get into a family thing.”
“Yeah. Just drive the car to that spot.”
“Alright.” I drove the car there and we got out. We walked slowly into the hospital, I followed her mom to the front desk.
I started to look at the things on the side like you know those brochures and stuff like that.
“Where is my daughter Natalie Sen?” She said.
I looked at her mom. Nat? She’s in the hospital.
“Yes, room 128, down the hall. The doctor will talk to you soon.”
“Thanks.”
She looked at me. I just stood there. I didn’t expect Nat to be here. Besides I just saw her a few minutes ago.
We ran down to the room. I was scared, I mean Nat was in the hospital. Her mom had to lie to me so I could drive straight.
Her mom turned to me before she opened the door.
“I’m sorry Nick, that I didn’t tell you. I didn’t want us to get in an accident like Nat did.”
“I kind of figured that.” I said slowly.
“I’m going to go in. You stay out here. I know you have a lot of things to think about. I’m so sorry Nick.”
“I know. Go. I want to see Nat soon.”
“Alright.”
I sat in a chair just off of the room. I put my head in my hands and waited for her mom to come out.
When she did a few minutes later I stood up. Right away.
“How is she?” I said.
“She has a few broken bones and a few scratches, I’m going to talk to the doctor and find out what really happened.”
“Can I go see her?” I said hoping I could.
She laughed. “You were the first thing she said to me. Where’s Nick? Yes she really wants to see you.”
“Thanks.”
“I’ll be back in there soon.”
“Okay, I get your point.”
“Go, see your girlfriend.” She said, I laughed and opened the door.
I walked in and saw Nat laying there. She had these cuts all over her face. She had a cast on her right hand that was green. I didn’t see anymore, but her feet was under the covers.
“Hey.” I said.
“Nicky?” she said looking up.
Did she think she was in trouble? I mean she didn’t do anything.
“How are you doing?” I asked coming closer to her.
“Okay, I feel like every bone in my body is cracked.”
“We’ll lets just hope that doesn’t happen.” She laughed.
I sat down in the chair right next to her.
“U mad at me?” She asked.
“What? Why would I be mad at me? I mean you didn’t do anything wrong. I mean it’s not your fault.”
“Nick, it was. I don’t even remember what happened.”
“Don’t worry about it Nat, I’m here for you. No matter what, I told you that before.”
“Promise.”
“Yeah.” I said smiling. She tried to smile back but went back to her worried look. We just were quite for awhile and then her mom and this officer came in.
“Hey Mom.” Nat said.
“Hey, how are you doing?”
“Okay.”
“Nat, this is Officer Nonook. He was there at the accident. That’s Nick her boyfriend.”
“Hello.” The officer said.
“Hi.” I said back. Nat just nodded her head.
“Well you did nothing. You just were in your car and at a stop when this Ms. Ashley Bernard came and hit you. She had a high level of alcohol level and she ran into your car and another.”
Nat’s eyes started to have tears in them, it was my ex-girlfriend who did that to her.
“How is the people in the other car?” She said.
“I don’t know quite yet. I will find that out for you.”
“Thanks.” She said.
I went on the bed next to her. I started to rub her back and she laid on my chest and started to cry on me.
“Shh...” I said rubbing her back.
Nat just cried. She was scared I could tell.
“What happened to the girl that drove the car?” I asked.
“She was let go and she’ll have a court date soon. Why?”
“We know her. She was my girlfriend.” I said holding Nat closer to me.
“Well, we can use that in court. I have to get going. If you need to talk about this come by the station.”
“Okay.” Her mom said.
They both left and Nat stayed there in my arms.
“Everything’s going to be okay Nat. I promise. Don’t worry.” I said rubbing her back.
“Nick, it was her.”
“What do you mean?”
“I saw her in the car next to me. That’s the last thing I remember.”
“You remember that?”
“Yeah. I do. Nick your going to help me right?”
“Yeah. I will.”
We sat there awhile in silence. We didn’t talk or anything. I just kind of held her.
Nat’s mom came back in a little while later.
“Nat, Honey, how do you feel?” She looked up. “Scared.” She said. We both started to play with each other’s fingers. Making her laugh a little bit.
“Nat we should go get some of your things since your going to be here for awhile. Nick you better come since it is your car.”
“Mom.” nat said.
“Yes honey?”
“Can you guys sleep here?”
“I can’t I have a meeting early tomorrow. If Nick asks to stay then he can.” She said.
I looked at Nat and nodded my head. Her mom left and I started to walk out.
“Nick?”
“Yes?” I said.
“Can you get me some things from home.”
“Sure. I’ll get your stuff for you if you want.”
“I do.” She said smiling.
“Okay. I’ll go and get it.”
“Nick?” She said again.
“Yes miss?”
“Can you get someone to stay with me?”
“Who?”
“Anyone?”
“Alright, I’ll call someone.”
“Thanks.”
“I’ll be back.” I said as I shot out the door.
