Chapter 7
*Nat*
Nick kind of helped a lot. I got out of the car and walked in front of him to the door. I started to look for my keys and Nick stood there watching me. I could tell that his eyes were on me. I finally got the keys as I screamed out. “I found them.”
“Oh thank heaven.” Nick said laughing.
“Haha.” I said sticking the key in the door and opening it.
We got in and I put my bag on a chair as Nick did the same.
“So it hasn’t changed a bit.” He said.
“Yeah, its only been what four five days?” I said. I guess he was trying to keep conversation.
I walked into the kitchen to get something to drink. I was thirsty. I walked in and opened the fridge door and then I asked him, without turning to look at him. “Do you want anything?”
“Yeah, my girlfriend, in my arms. Soon.” I kept my back to him as a tear fell down my cheek.
“Are you sure about that?” I asked. I was now getting a cup, my back still turned to him.
“Yeah, also some water.”
I took a cup for him and I turned on the facet and I poured my drink for myself. Still not looking at him.
“I know your crying Nat.” He said.
“I am not.”
“Yeah you are.”
“No, I’m not.”
“Then how come your not looking at me?”
“Because I’m getting the drinks.”
“Your done with that Nat. You just have to put away the pitcher you got for yourself.” He said coming up to me and taking the pitcher and putting it away for me in the fridge. He got his cup full of water and drank it standing right next to me.
“Thanks.” I said softly.
“No, thank you.”
“But I..” I started to say when he took my hand.
“Come, we need to talk.” He said dragging me into the living room.
We sat down on different couches and we talked. We talked about everything, from how horrible these few days were for us, and we talked about why we kissed each other. We were at the stage as being friends right now, somewhere that we were at a few months ago. I was getting tired, but
I knew that I couldn’t sleep. So when I yawned he looked at me and said.
“Do you still have that air hockey table out?” He asked.
“Yeah, I never got the chance to put it away. Why?”
“I’ll make you a deal, if I win three out of five games we talk for a little more, and if you win three out of five games we sleep. Then tomorrow we decide if we should go to school or talk. Deal?”
“That sounds like it should be the other way around Nick.” I said.
“Yeah it does but you look tired and I want to make you work for your sleep.”
“Some sleep I’ll probably not even.”
“Okay, so we have a deal?”
“Yeah deal.”
We played the five games, I was so tired that I just let him win.
“I won!” he shouted.
“Yeah, so we better talk.” I said getting up.
*Nick*
As Nat started to get up she needed a little help getting up so she used a chair near by. I kind of now didn’t want to talk and to just let her sleep. As she keep on walking, I got up and walked behind her, when she fell. She fell right in front of me.
“Nat?” I said. I started to shake her but she didn’t move. I guess because she was breathing that she was just so tired. I picked her up and took her to the couch nearby. I lay her down and she started to shake.
I went up to her and I felt her, she was ice cold. She wasn’t dead, she was just tired. Right? I went into a closet that had blankets in it and took a few out. I put them on her, but for some odd reason she still wouldn’t stop shaking. I then decided that I was going to lay behind her and put my arms around her to see if that would work..
It did, she ended up sleeping. I did too. For the first time in days. It kind of felt good to hold her. That is something that probably helped.
