Chapter 4
"Look at those two," Jenny commented from the kitchen where the two women sat, watching Caitlin and Nick play. Jenny looked at her watch.
"Ooh, it's late and I have to work tomorrow," Jenny said, standing up.
"Well, bring Caitlin here tomorrow morning to play." Jane said.
"You'll baby-sit?"
"Yea, why not?" Jane asked when they got outside.
"Hey, I got you!" Caitlin screamed.
"Nu-uh! You missed me!" Nick screamed back. He ran away from Caitlin.
"Hey, Caitlin! We have to go now!" Jenny called to her daughter.
"Oh, Mom! Do I have to?" Caitlin whined. Jane laughed. "Don't worry, Caitlin! You can come over tomorrow, ok?" Jane said.
"YEA!!" Nick and Caitlin screamed in unison.
As the car pulled away, Jane had a feeling that Nick and Caitlin were going to get along fine.

Summer came and gone. Before they knew it, Nick and his new best friend Caitlin were on their way to Kindergarten. Jenny and Jane agreed to meet in front of school near the big oak tree.
"Hi, Nick," Caitlin said when she saw him.
"Hi, Caitlin," Nick returned.
"Jane, can Caitlin come to your house tonight? I have to work late again tonight," Jenny asked.
"Sure, no problem! I'll pick them up from school," Jane said. They heard the bell ring.
"Let's go, Caitlin," Nick said, grabbing her by the arm. Jane and Jenny watched as the two of them walked into school together, hand-in-hand.
