Stardate: 52013.0 "Thank you Reman. These programs will come in handy since we seem to have lost them from memory, and at such a fair price," the Starfleet Officer said. Reman just smiled and nodded as he completed the transaction. Reman knew the officer thought he was getting a bad deal on the programs but the officer was in sore need of them and wasn't about to get on bad terms with Reman just in case he needed his services in the future. Reman stacked up his profit in a heavy metal crate on the floor of his barber shop. He then closed the door to it and the electronic lock clicked shut. Reman then shut the outer door as a secondary precaution so that nobody could get his precious latinum. Reman didn't feel like he could trust too many people, especially Starfleet. Reman was about to leave to pursue further profit when the security chief, Carter, stopped him in the doorway. "Where do you think you're going Reman?," Carter said. "Well I have no obligation to tell you. I have not done anything wrong." "That remains to be seen. Have a seat Reman. I need to talk to you for a minute." Reman just sighed like Carter was wasting his time and then he sat down on one of the barber's chairs and folded his arms. Carter walked over to the chair and said, "I have a few questions for you concerning the death of Doctor L'vant." "Sure. Carry on chief. I will humor this obvious waste of your and my time," Reman replied. "Well then. First tell me where you were at on stardate 52011.2, the time of the murder." "I was in my barber shop setting up some of my stuff getting ready to open for business." "Yes, yes of course. Just as the computer has on record. What I want to know is if you had anything to do with it?," Carter said leaning closer towards Reman. "Of course not. I hate death. Especially the death of others, makes for bad business you know." "Really? Well I have heard other Ferengi say that war is good for business. As you and I know many people get killed in war. What do you have to say to that?" "Listen here hu-man. I am not like other Ferengi. I dislike death and violence. I don't like to see others get hurt. Are you going to continue to badger me like this or will you let me go about my business?" "Yeah sure Reman but just one more question...Did you ever have any informal contact with Doctor L'vant? Did you like her?" "Well I did speak to her a few times. I thought she was a very intelligent and beautiful women. A sad thing it was to hear she had died." "OK...well I am sure you are going to attend her funeral then." Reman looked up and in as solemn a voice as he could produce he said, "Of course chief." The chief nodded and then left out of the barber shop. There was a security officer standing outside the door to Reman's shop. Carter leaned over and whispered to him, "Watch this Ferengi. He might be hiding something." The officer nodded and then Carter left to continue his investigation. "I had better lay low for awhile. At least until his investigation is over. Now I think I have a business appointment with Kalamarina. I can't wait to meet her......." Reman thought.
