"There is no such thing as death in the sense that life has ceased... I know my friends not by there physical appearance but by their spirit." Helen Keller whom was blind and deaf.
"The principle point of their teaching is that the soul does not perish and after death it passes from one body into another." from De Bello Gallico by Julis Caesar
"It is very beautiful over there." Thomas Edison as he was dying.
The existence of the immortal soul is a scientific fact. Around your body is an energy field called the aura. The aura leaves the body at death. One of the great laws of science says - energy (soul) can't be destroyed. I can just hear the Druid/Wiccans saying, No Duh! "Among them (Celts) the doctrine of Pythagoras prevails, according to which the souls of men are immortal... taking upon themselves a new body." by Diodorus.
The Celts have a God of Death, Julis Caesar called him Dis Pater; the Celts called him the Father. In the sacred myths, he is called Donn, Arawn, Cernunnos, and the Father because he is the father of the Celtic race. In Old English Witchcraft, we simply call him the Horned God. Most people today know him as the "Grim Reaper." His appearance has been modified by the new religions to make him frightful, to instill the fear of death and their hell. He is actually quite a noble fellow. He is described as the black knight in the Mabinogian's Lady of the Fountain.
The new religions didn't stop with Dis Pater, they also deranged the appearance of the Banshee portraying them as horrible skeleton women to instill the fear of death. Actually, the Banshee are fairy women of extraordinary beauty and kindness, who help the souls of the departed into the Celt's Otherworld.
Speaking of the otherworld, since we have proven in the bible the existence of other Gods doesn't it make one wonder what preparations these other Gods have made for their worshipers? According to Celtic (Wiccan) belief there are three worlds or dimensions. These worlds inhabit the same place at the same time just in a slightly (very thin) different dimension. There is the underworld, where certain Gods and Goddess rotate in and out of. So do the souls of humans as we are being reborn all the time. The second world is our world, where humans, animals, and magickal beings live. The third is the Fairy Realm called Avalon, the Norse Valhalla, Olympia, the Christians' heaven, and various other names. The Fairy Realm is where the Gods of Wicca, magickal being and yes, even humans live. However, the borders of these worlds are not set and drift into one another allowing a person, Gods, and magickal beings to pass from one world to another. All is not always peaceful in these otherworlds "as above so below." Even the bible says there was war in heaven. In fact, Avalon and the Underworld are in ways very much like our world, "as above so below" sometimes torn with war, strife, and hate.
AntiWitches howl about a hell that awaits Wiccans. No it doesn't, but it awaits them! Matthew 8:12, "But the children of the kingdom (Christians) shall be cast into outer darkness (hell): there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
The new religions falsely claim they received hell from the Jews. But the Jews don't have a fiery hell. In the Old Testament, hell is from the Hebrew word sheol,1 meaning where the dead go. In the New Testament, hell is translated from the Greek hades meaning the unseen world.2 Hades (Horned God) is the Greek God of the underworld. The word hel from which the english hell derives3 doesn't appear in the Greek or Hebrew editions of the bible, but is used extensively in English bibles (one wonders where it came from). Hel (Crone Goddess) is the Greek Goddess of the underworld. Hel is also the Norse Valhalla (the Celts Avalon) where the warrior dead fight, feast and ..., enjoy the pleasures of the Valkyries. The new religions fiery hell is an invented terror tactic to gain converts. They have contorted the Greek Pagans "heaven" into hell.
There is no fiery hell or purgatory!
Arthur lay upon the ground mortally wounded. He looked up and saw Sir Bedivere was not injured and able. Arthur ordered Sir Bedivere to cast the sword Excaliber into the sea. Sir Bedivere agreed to do so. Sir Bedivere attempted twice to cast the sword into the sea, but his heart was not able. He returned to Arthur and said, "without this sword there can be no King in Britain." "To lose this sword would cause great destruction and chaos." "It is the symbol of Kingly power and right!" "No man can rule this island without Excaliber!" Arthur replied, "If you love me and wish to save my life you must cast the sword into the sea. Then help will come!" Sir Bedivere ran to a cliff overlooking the shore and cast Excaliber into sea! Then suddenly a barge appeared piloted by a man and carrying three women heading for the shore. Sir Bedivere ran back to Arthur. As he arrived were Arthur lay, the three women were already there. They had placed Arthur on a bed and were carrying him to their barge. The three women were wearing black robes with large hoods that covered their faces. Sir Bedivere followed them to the barge. When they arrived at the barge the pilot lifted Arthur and placed him into the barge. They were about to cast off into the sea. When Sir Bedivere asked, "Where are you taking the king and whom are you?" The three women looked at Sir Bedivere and pulled their hoods down so he could see. One women was Arthur sister, Queen Morgan, the other was Viviane, the Lady of the Lake and the last was Galis (the Goddess Arianrhod), the Queen of the North. And they answered Sir Bedivere's question, all three in unison, "We take our Lord to Avalon where he shall be healed and one day return as king." The man in the barge said, "I am Leir, the pilot of this barge." Then they departed into the sea and soon vanished from all sight.
"What is death? A tragic mask, turn it and examine it. See it does not bite. The poor body must be separated from the spirit either now or later as it was separated from it before." Senecca, Roman Philosopher.
In this section I have included information that I have learned from the investigations of near-death experiences.4 This is not a rewriting of this lesson, but a natural growth of knowledge. Near death experiences have revealed nothing that conflicts with the old teachings of the Craft.
Death is the one appointment we will all keep! Despite a person's religion there are similar experiences to all near-deaths. This is surprising when we consider that some people believe in a hell, a heaven, a purgatory, a happy hunting ground, and many others. They all have the same experience.
Here is the account most people experience when dying.
A buzzing or ringing noise is heard. It will be a familiar noise, you hear it most often when you are falling asleep. You also may hear it during out of the body experiences. For some people the noise can be uncomfortable.
A feeling of peace, love, and safety replaces the pain of death.
Many say it gets dark, similar to moving through a dark tunnel. This is the soul moving to the exit passage and out of the body. It gets dark because it's dark inside the body.
Once out of the body they can see everything that's going on around their body. While out of the body, they notice others are there to aid them. They help people pass into a bright light. These others are the Banshee. They usually appear as beings of white.
Some others report seeing dead family members. This is because some dead family stay to help out their living family. Yes, the dead can influence the living and make changes in our lives.
In the bright light they meet a being (the Father). I believe this being appears as a deity. Who that deity is depends on that person's religious belief. In Old English Wicca, all Gods are simply a mask worn by the one God/dess. The deity that meets a Christian, Muslim, or Pagan is the one and same God! For the Pagan, this God is Dis Pater or the Father, the opener to the gates of Avalon.
In the latter years, the new religions turned Dis Pater (called the Father hereafter) into St. Peter, who stands at the pearly gates of heaven.
Next the Father asks questions, but there is no fear or threat of punishment. No threats of a fiery hell! The God/dess don't punish us for the wrongs we have done during our life. We receive punishment for our wrong only during our life; according to the three fold law. "What I cannot understand is how there could possibly be a God who would reward or punish his subjects..." Albert Einstein, The Private Albert Einstein. Peter writing to the Celts says ...the Father who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning (resting between lives) here.., I Peter 1:17. There is no mention of punishment in this judgment!
The questions the Father asks center around the two most important issues of life. Did you learn to love others and what did you learn? The new religions have no explanation for "God" or an angel asking these questions? For them, either your in (saved) or your out (unsaved). These questions for the Wicca are no surprise. The soul is immortal and it lives many lives in different bodies. Loving others and accomplishments are the acts that cause the soul to mature and grow. This event fits our belief in reincarnation quite well. It's important to accomplish all you can during your life so you won't have to learn it in the next.
The next occurrence is a retrospection of your life. As some have said, "My whole life flashed before my eyes."
Next is the crossing over to the other side. To some, it may be a door, a fence, the sea, any type of border. I will describe the account of crossing by water discussed by my priestess and several of the sacred myths.
The Celts heaven is called Avalon, the island of apples, the Summerland, Annwen in the Mabinogion, and the Land of the Young. Avalon has many descriptions. The following myth was written from several sources describing Avalon.
King Arthur comes to. He sees that he is in a small, but beautiful barge that is crossing a sea to transport him to "Avalon." No one has told him that, he just knows. He sees three ladies, who greet and welcome him aboard. The ladies are indescribably beautiful! Arthur asks, "what is this sea, it has a strange appearance." Morgan answered, "this sea separates this world from the other."
Shortly, the barge arrived on the beach of Avalon with the wounded Arthur. A young maiden ran to the barge carrying a golden apple and bid the King to eat from it. Small elfmen followed closely behind the maid and lifted Arthur, carrying him to the Queens castle. As Arthur was carried, he saw many fields of growing food, many grape vines, many trees that bloomed, and bore fruits at the same time. Yet he didn't see any farmers, no barns, not even a plow. Arthur inquired of one of the elfmen how this could be? He answered, "this Isle needs no farmers, the land of itself produces all that is needed or wanted."
Arthur then asked, "what King rules this land?" The elfman answered, "no King my Lord but, nine Queens. The Queens are sisters. The first among them is Morgan, she excels her sisters in beauty and is greatly skilled in the arts of magick and healing. She knows all about the herb, so that she can cure all sickness and ill. She has the power to shape-shift and to fly in the air. When she wishes, she can be in London, Rome, or Washington, yea, anywhere upon this earth. But she is mostly present where her worshipers are!"
As Arthur was carried over the bridge entering the castle, he saw wondrous apple trees. Arthur asked, "what is the nature of the trees." The elfman answered, "these are the golden apples of immortality and any that eat from them shall never die." Arthur then remembered the maiden had given him such an apple and he quickly took a bite. "Here my Lord Arthur there is no death, illness, anger, or disease. Because time doesn't exist, there is none that are old. Every person is honorable and trustworthy; no one can lie here. There is no crime, no need for locks on the doors. There are no cripples. No jealousy, arrogance or hatred can exist here. All is in harmony."
Once inside the castle he saw a great hall filled with many people. There was much music, playing, feasting, drinking, dancing, and the pursuit of fair maidens with great merriment throughout. His knights that had died in the battle greeted him, each with a wondrous fairy maiden at his side. Also there was his father Uther, Caesar, Queen Boudicca who had given the Romans such trouble, and many others. The feasting table had every manner of food that came from "The Cauldron of Plenty" which is never empty, no matter how much food is taken out.
A maiden holding the Holy Grail came to Arthur and said, "This is Goibhniu's beer of immortality, here drink." Arthur drank from the grail and he felt better. He saw that his wounds were healing.
Then he thought to himself, what a wondrous place, good drink, good food, merriment, and plentiful willing ladies -- what more could a man ask!
After you spend an undetermined amount of time in Avalon you are reborn into this world. "Thanks to these beautiful mysteries which come from the Gods, death is for mortals no longer an evil, but a boon." A Greek Eleusinian.
AntiWitches have criticized our belief of rebirth.5 However, their own bible talks about it extensively. After the judgment and death "pass the time of your sojourning here," I Peter 1:17. Sojourning means a temporary stay. "We have had fathers of our flesh (more than one biological father) which corrected us," Hebrews 12:9. "Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return," Job 1:21. "If a man dies will he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait for my renewal to come." Job 14:14. Renewal from the Hebrew is chaliyphah {khal-ee-faw'} meaning a change (of garments), replacement (of the body) and relief (from death). John the Baptist was the reincarnation of Elias, Matthew 17:10-13. "And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man (before he was born), or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him." John 9:1-3. If rebirth was not commonly accepted this question would be illogical.
Early Christians accepted rebirth. The new religions developed an eternal fiery hell to terrorize conversions and force obedience to Church authority. Hell as they learned was a very effective power building tool. Reincarnation and an eternal hell didn't make sense and were contradictory. So, at the Second Council of Constantinople (553 AD) the new religions did away with reincarnation.
Reincarnation is an ancient belief and is accepted nearly throughout the world. For example, the present Dalai Lama of Tibet passed tests proving his reincarnation that exceeds any scientific standard.
The British Celts (Wiccans) also accepted reincarnation. Especially the reincarnation of the Father. The Father is a great soul of vast experience that is reborn to help others and nations. The British Father reincarnates at times of great danger for the British Isles. King Arthur was one carnation of the Father when he defeated Saxon invaders to his island and secured peace for his lifetime. We've all heard that King Arthur would return when Britain faced it's greatest peril. He returned as Winston Churchill whose leadership defeated the Nazis and secured peace and he will return again and again.
Many have asked me is there a Father for the U.S.? Yes, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Kennedy for example. Other nations also have Fathers, Ghandi of India is one example.
