jared's poems

sitting here thinking
forever i will be drinking
those lies that you feed to me
at first, you swept me off my feet
now each breath is laced with deceit
i stare, regretful, at your empty chair
i hoped each time that you'd be there
but now i must, release my trust
of all the things you've done
now i ask you, please my dear,
of us, what has become?

i'm sittin' here cryin'
on the passenger side
of a wonderful thing called love
she don't know what i'm goin' through
and i'm the only one to blame
'cuz i don't know anything
but how to play this lying game
she has the world in her grasp
with the whole road ahead
and all the while i weep
'cuz i'm sittin' here cryin'
on the passenger side
of a wonderful thing called love
buckle up and hold on tight
look straight ahead now
'cuz we're goin' through hell tonight
it's never been easy
doin' what i've gotta do
now ya' know of course
that it might never be
holdin' on is all i ever knew
just hold on, 'cuz it's gonna be hell tonight
and i'm still sittin' here cryin'
on the passenger side
of this wonderful thing they call love
and nobody knows it but me
