Bret was born on July 2, 1957 in Calgary AB Canada. He comes from originally a family of 12 boisterous and innovative children! His father , the legendary Stu Hart , was a wrestler and once owned a thriving wrestling promotions by the name of Stampede Wrestling Promotions! His mom Helen was born here in the USA on Long Island. She comes from many Civil War fighters. Hence Bret and Stu's interest in that conflict. Stu once said to me (the only time we spoke on the phone) that if not for these men he would not have Helen. They married December 31, 1948 after a wrestling event. Their honeymoon was spent going to wrestling events Stu was billed for . Which should not surprise any. Stu told me quite abit about the Hart ancestry but I will leave that for another page . Anyway Helen's sister Patsy is married to Jack Forrest who is the "great-nephew" of Nathan Bedford Forrest who I profile on this site! An actor, hockey enthusiast, writer, artist, cartoonist, columnist, family man, activist for wrestler's rights, music enthusiast (U2,Pearl Jam among many ...) ....the man wears many hats! He has wrestled since 1977 (or at least been around wrestling as a profession) . He is married to Julie. Has 4 kids: Sons: Dallas and Blade, daughters Jade and Beans! He has appeared on many TV shows . Most notably Lonesome Dove, The Simpsons, Mad TV, among others. He once studied film for a year at Mount Royal College in Calgary. Has interests in that as well. Bret's siblings are in this order (hopefully I have them correct:)
Bruce: born 1/3/50 ahhhhhhh the current head of Stampede and a former WWF wrestler . You can subscribe to his newsletter at this mail group It is Stampede Mailing List. Bruce is the power in the family business now. Is a part owner in BJ Annis's gym in Calgary . Is married to Andrea for at least almost 20 years and has 5 kids. Has been in many WWF ppvs with Bret. Bruce also taught history in a high school in Calgary .
Keith: I don't have his dob sorry.Born @ 1951 I think. He was a co holder on quite a few occasions with Bret of the tag titles over at Stampede. He is now a firefighter. He is married and has a few kids. He once ran on a Liberal ticket for a seat on a government in Canada as well.
Wayne: Born in November of I believe 1953 he is the families ref. When I talked to Stu that one time he told me that he had made Wayne a ref "because we needed a ref and we basically had enough wrestlers then...." He is still involved I believe marginally in the family business. An enigma to me (and my 2nd fave Hart) I know very little about him and would LOVE to learn more...(hint hint)
Dean: Born in 1954 , he was the bright spot of the family. Like Owen he was vibrant and like Owen died far too soon. He was a music promoter in Clearwater Canada for a living and he also amateur wrestled. He weighed about 150 pounds soaking wet but was a very valiant wrestler, capturing a few trophies. He passed away November of 1991 from Bright's Disease , an illness he had fought for a long time. He was also a very compassionate and patient person. Kind and very strong willed.
Ellie: Very beautiful Ellie was born I believe in February 1955. She is married to Jim The Anvil Neidhart ,(who's birthday is I think a few days shy of her own!) who once wrestled in a tag team with Bret and is now competing in Canada plus an occasional trainer for the wrestling school WWF operates . She and Jim have 2 kids I believe. And she is a rather spirited, sweet, intelligent person. They once lived in Tampa , Florida. I have heard their house there is beautiful.
Georgia: I believe dear Georgia Hart Annis was born in 1956. She is married to BJ Annis who own s Bj's Gym. An especially sweet person and easily sensitive . Bright and strong I admire her. She is also mom to Teddy Annis a young pro wrestler over in Canada who once was with the WWF.
Bret : the man, July 1957 is next on the list . But of course you don't wanna hear about him???? LOL Married twice. Sadly, he and Julie divorced a few years back. He and his new wife currently live in Italy!
Allison: This beautiful sister of Bret was born in 1959 I believe. She is one of the more softer and astute of any of the 4 Hart sisters. She was once married to wrestler Ben Bassarab and NO she NEVER was nor will she possibly EVER be married to wrestler Curt Henning! That rumor has NO basis whatsoever. I do believe she is single at the present moment. Sweet and beautiful she is one of my fave Hart family members!
Ross: Born in 1961 I believe . He is the trainer for Stu's Dungeon, plus once owned a wrestling (very minor) promotion called Canadian Rocky Mountain. It is now defunct. He is a teacher also and is involved in Stampede Promotions. Once wrestled under the moniker "The Cowboy" . He is delightful and rather sensitive and intelligent. I am not sure if he is married. Most likely dating.
Diana: Of course we know Diana LOL Former Miss Calgary, and an occasional wrestler now over at Stampede. Wife of The British Bulldog (I hear they have a strained marriage at the moment though)and mom to 2 beautiful kids , Harry and Georgia. An intelligent "knockout" . Born in 1963 , she is rather vivacious and to talk with her you sense her bountiful energy!
Owen :I am planning a tribute page for him so I won't say much now . Other than I miss him and wish him much peace.
Born May 7th, 1965 died in May of 1999 in a tragic fall during a WWF pay per view! Was married to beautiful childhood sweetheart Martha and a devoted dad to Oje and Athena. Married Martha in 1989. I love you Owen!
