Captivating Katie Holmes has millions of eyes watching her every week on The WB's hit drama Dawson's Creek. So you better believe that means she does what she can to always look her best.

Twenty-year-old Katie says that looking her loveliest goes hand in hand with eating right and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, but she cautions her fans to avoid fad diets. "A lot of times I don't think that girls know the consequences of their actions," explains Katie. "I think if you want to diet you should go to your doctor."

As for her personal health regimen, Katie's tried everything from hardcore exercise to cutting out her favorite snack foods, but she's since decided that for her, it's not about restricting some of life's guilty pleasures. "I have tried and it usually lasts about a week," admits the brunette beauty, who cops to having a raging Jelly Belly habit. "I think that if you don't worry about it and you try to exercise that is when you're fine."

So instead of denying herself, Katie says it's all about balance and "eating lots of fruits and vegetables." In addition to fueling her body with healthy food, Katie also eats stuff she wants without overdosing it, exercises at least 30 minutes a day and takes a multivitamin daily. "If you're like, "Oh God, I can't have whatever today, "Katie warns," then it's like when you get obsessive, it's not healthy."

Take it from Katie, with her bright smile, glowing complexion and long flowing hair, she looks like she knows what she's talking about!
