Kevin Scott Richardson

Kevin Scott Richardson

Kevin Scott Richardson was born on October 3, 1971, in Kentucky, which makes this 26-year-old a Libra. He spent the first nine years on a 10-acre farm, then the next eight years in a modern-day log cabin. When he was young, he played Little League football, rode horses and dirtbikes, and sang into a hairbrush in front of his mirror, pretending he was in front of crowds of fans (how right he was!). He is also known as Train, a name he got because "He was a linebacker on his high school football team and ran through guys like a train" says his cousin Brian. He also joined the chorus, and the drama club. He used to enter talents shows as well. He and Brian used to play baseball together when they were small.

Kevin says he's bashful, and he's a sweetie. He and Brian began to cry when they got their first gold record (aww!). He likes Maxwell's songs, and peanut butter. He likes the color blue. He also loves his Mom's home cookin', and he likes to surf, though he doesn't have much time to any more. He also plays basketball. He lifts weights and dances as well as writes music.

Kevin has a wonderful voice, though he doesn't get many solos, but you can hear his deep speaking voice in many of the songs. He was influenced by Prince, Luther Vandross, and Elton John. For those of you who haven't seen their second home video, "Backstreet Boys Live In Concert," he sings "Ten Thousand Promises" solo, with him playing piano and Nick on drums.

Kevin was second last in joining the Boys. Before he joined, he worked at Disneyland, and played Aladdin for a while. He also used to play in restaurants and weddings. He shares an apartment with Bri and Howie.

According to the Boys, Kevin is a perfectionist, and at times, too much of one. He is also mature, responsible, professional, and is very aware of his goals. He is also the authoritative one in the group, and gets all the Boys back on track when they wander off.
