First, that my Executor hereinafter named shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relations and friends, and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts howsoever and to whomsoever being out of the monies that may first come into my hands as part or parcel of my Estate.
Second Item, I give and devise to my beloved wife Belinda Thomas all of my lands to be set out by metes and bounds wheron I now live so as to include my Mansion House all my out houses and other improvements, and all of my money and papers, To have and to hold also six negroes one negroe boy Ralph, and Henderson, Negroe woman by the name of Rin Caroline Saphrona Nicy and all my stock of horses and mules and cattle hogs sheep & geese and all my crop on hand and my wagon and all my farming tools and Blacksmith tools and Thrasher & Fan and all of my Household and Kitchen furniture all together to have and to hold her lifetime or widowhood and after her death or marriage then to be equally divided between all of my children: and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend John Thomas Senr. my lawful Executor to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning of the sameand every part and clause therof,hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made. In Witness whereof I the said Benjamin Thomas do hereunto set my hand and seal this 23rd day of October A. D. 1857.
Signed sealed published and declared by the said Benjamin Thomas to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence do subscribe our names as Witnesses thereto.
