The Last Will and Testament of Benjamin Thomas [Jr.]


In the name of god amen I Benjamin Thomas of the County of Anson in the state of North Carolina the in perfect soundness of mind Knowing the mortality of body do ordain and bequeath this to be my last will and testament follows to wit after my just debts are paid I give to my dear Wife Betsy Thomas all that I posess in my houses I leave two hundred and sixty acres of land to be sold I want the money put out upon Interest till Jesse Green Thomas comes of age and I want (sold) it laid out for land for him also I want three head of horses (sold) I want sold and I leave it to my wife Betsey to Raise Jesse upon and if she marry again the property that I have left my wife Betsey Belongs to Jesse Green Thomas that is for all But what is in my houses and I want him to be Edicated with good learning also I want five head of cattle be sold and twenty head of hogs and all of my farming tools to be sold and four head of sheeps to be sold and all of my corn and fodder to be sold and the money put out upon Interest and the Interest to be given to support my wife Betsey and Jesse Green Thomas till Jesse comes of age also I want Mathew sold and Jesse to have two hundred dollars of the money and the rest I leave to Jacob Thomas and Last I Constitute and appoint my Brother Jacob Thomas and Wyatt Nance my Executors to this my Last will and testament hereunto I have set my hand and affixed my seal this tenth day of december 1835
signed and sealed and deliveredd as the Last will and testament of the above named Benjamin Thomas in the presents off
