The Last Will and Testament of Headley Thomas

State of North Carolina Union County
Headley Thomas of the county of union and state of Noth Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my Last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say
first that my executor shall provide for my boddy a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my Relations and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts howsoever and to whomever owing out of the money the first comes into his hands as a part or parcel of my estate
item first I give unto my beloved wife Winney Thomas all my household and kitchen furniture also one hundred and fifty acres of land where I now live and my two horses and two choice cow and six choice sheep and my stock of hogs and all the farming tools also another cow at Riley H. Austin --and all my other property sold to pay my debts with
And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend Thomas Baucom My lawfull Executor to all intents and purposes to Execute this last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part and clause therefore hereby Revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me here to fore made
in witness hereof I the Sd. HeadleyThomas do here unto set my hand and seal this 25 day of October in the year 1861
signed sealed published and declared by the Sd. Headley Thomas to be his last will and testament in the presents of us who at his request and in his presence do subscribe our names as witness thereunto
