BILIRUBIN

The bilirubin web page is back. The man tried to hold us down by removing our old web page, but our persistance is unmatched and we will never be gone for long.

Bilirubin is a band from deep in the heart of the North Carolina bayou. This page is not about the substance bilirubin, nor the disease jaundice and I'm sorry if that's what you were looking for and this is what you found. Bilirubin is a trio of three handsome young men, and two of them are single, so if there are any ladies out there who always wanted to tell their friends that their boyfriend is in a band, drop us a line.

CRACK ROCK

Bilirubin plays real strange music with elements of almost every single type of music imaginable, even the kinds without names. The root of our music is improvization. True improvization (improvization without ANY preset form) between two or more people establishes a form of unspoken communication that can express ideas beyond what is able to be expressed through the use of spoken or written language.

sound recordings

We have recorded several performances of varying quality on tape and we offer these tapes for the same price it costs us to make them to anyone interested in hearing some different music. Our sound recordings are essentially our best effort to record the music that is created at a given point in time, like taking a picture of a sunset, as opposed to composing songs and picking over them until they're perfect. Jaundice and Friends (a bad first recording from 1993, but it's pretty funny)

Lucy in the sky with Cubic Zirconium (another bad recording, but this one's from 1994)

Too Long of a Normal Moment (a decent recording from 1996 when we really started to form a fairly unique and liberating philosophy about the music making process)

Bilirubin (by far our best recording, from 1997, that has all kinds of neat stuff on it)

I am a lazy bastard so there probably won't be a whole lot of new stuff on here for at least a little while longer because first I'm going to put a lot of the old issues of the Bili Gram that got erased when Angelfire disconnected our web page at the beginning of the summer.
