This drill has several names, lets call it "ball slap". If you have enough basketballs, give each player one. Players need to stand in place.Have your players sit in a allmost[1/2 sitting position] sitting position, with knees and waist bent, their face looking at their legs.Feet and knees need to be together.Next they place ball behind knees and hold with both hands. They drop ball and let it roll down back of legs,or fall to the floor. As soon as they release the ball, they clap their hands in front of their legs and quickly catch the ball behind their legs before it hits the floor. Do this with new players,it increases hand speed,eye/hand co-ordination,and ballhandling too. |
