set up in a box-allways use this simple setup |
inbounder starts play and everyone goes like shown. |
the first option is for the 5 coming across lane, and the second option is for the 4 under the basket. note:the 4 must set pick and then turn and seal off the defender ( 5 ) by getting low and wide. Also, the 5 must wait for the pick to be set by 4,cannot leave early. the 5 and 4 should be open for a short time |
the third option is for the point to recieve ball for a shot |
the fourth option is for the 3 to toss the ball to the 1 and step inbounds and have the 1 lob the quick pass to them, they then quickly turn , pivot and step to the basket for a close shot. |
the 5th option is a pass to the 2,and the 3 quickly runs out and screens for the 2 who drives the lane and shoots a short shot. You can have the 2 hesitate on initial play start untill you see if the 5 or 4 gets the ball inside in you want to.It will be easier to get the ball to them that way. this is the best inbounds play I ever used and once you get it down, you can score easy with it.But some of the keys are: 1-have the 4 set a quick pick 2-5 must wait for pick to be set before moving 3-3 should use a good fake before any pass to throw off defender-catch them leaning the wrong way. 4-the 4 must turn and seal off the defender quickly after setting pick for 5,very important 5-after passing to the 1,the 3 must step inbounds close to the low block and the 5 must seal off the defender if possible, the 3 then pivots around and should be open for a score. 6-pratice this over and over,it`s only one you may need |
