Flea Markets and Thrift Stores

Flea Market Overview

Obviously, most classic vidoegames are not sold in stores anymore. Most were cleared out in the mid 90's of their stock. Therefore, collectors have to sift through alternative sources to supply their collections. Some of these sources include flea markets, pawn shops, yard sales, friends, and thrift stores.

Flea Markets - this is my best source for new pruchases. Try to hit as many of these as possible. If you find a permanent dealer of classic games, try to support them so they will stay and continue to get in new supplies. Also be sure to get there early to catch the deals from the temporary sellers.

Other candidates Pawn Shops- most do not carry older games anymore. A real long shot.

Yard sales- Probably the longest shot of them all- but you never know. Try to hit the big neighborhood sales and hope that no one you know sees you.

Friends- After all what are friends for? Most have a lot of good stuff languishing in a closet somewhere, and will hook you up for free or at least a good deal.

Thrift Stores- Also a long shot. If there is a game, it's probably just one of millions of Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt Carts. But if you find anything, they normally will be fairly cheap.
