1. Nick, Howie, and A.J. all first me met in '93 while seprately auditioning in Orlando, Florida and began to harmonize together.
2. The quintet named themselves after the Backstreet Market, an open-air soppers paridise in Orlando.
3. Though they started off practicing cover tunes, the first song that BSB recorded was written by Lou Pearlman, and called "Tell Me That I'm Dreaming."

5. Howard Dwaine Dorough was born August 22, 1973 in Orlando, FL to Paula and Hoke Dorough.
6. Howie has an older brother, John, and two older sisters, PollyAnna and Angie. A third sister, Caroline, passed away last year.
7. Howie has a cat named Missy and a dog named Oscar
8. His friends call him Howie D and Sweet D.
9. Howie plays guitar, can ballet dance, and speaks fluent Spanish.

11. How does Howie keep that buff body? he lifts weights, water skis, swims, and does push-ups and stomach crunches before he goes to bed. (all that hard work sure pays off!!)
12. Howie graduated high school at the top 10% of his class and earned a college scholarship.
13. He's been investing his BSB earnings in Florida real estate. His bandmates say he is the most business-minded.

14. The May release of Millennium marks the second US album and the third international album for BSB.
15. Howie, Brian, AJ, Nick, and Kevin co-wrote most of the songs on Millennium.
