In April of 1998, when I called the Ticketmaster hotline, I thought that they had sold out of tickets to the Backstreet Boys concert in July. But luckily enough..they still had seats available in the pavilion! I ordered two seats(my mom went along..lol) in the third level. The third level was sorta far away from the stage..the last section in the pavilion actually...but I was just happy that I got seats in the pavilion! After a few months of waiting anxiously...the day of July 15th finally arrived!! I was sooo excited..I couldn’t sleep..or eat..lol. My mom and I were to meet the people that we were riding with at 5pm. I had my binoculars, camera, and money for souvenirs, I was ready! Finally, it was time to leave! I knew that in just a few hours I was going to see the Backstreet Boys..live...in concert!!!!! I’d waited for this day..forever. When we arrived at the park and ride to meet up with the people we were going to ride with...I just couldn’t hold my excitement anymore. It took about two hours to get to the Nissan Pavilion. All the way there, my friends and I talked about the concert..our fave BSB’s and we listened to their music! When we arrived at the Nissan Pavilion there were so many girls carrying posters w/ their fave “boy” written on there...cars had pix of bsb on them and in them..there were streamers and writing on cars saying “I love BSB”..etc. Anyways, we finally gave our tickets to the ticket lady and then went to find our seats..leaving my friends at the lawn seats..I went to find mine in the pavilion. When I found my seats..I looked right at the stage and dreamed about Nick and the BSB being on that stage in less than an hour or so!!! Anyways, my mom had to go the bathroom..lol...so I decided to go to the souvenir stands. I bought a BSB tour book, and a tour t-shirt. Then we went back to our seats. Finally, the opening acts came out. The first opening act was Nick’s little bro, Aaron. He is such a cutie patootie...lol! He’s soo talented. He was wearing a blue suit, which was too big for him, but he looked so adorable..lol! He sang “Crush on You,” and “Shake It!” When he came out he’s like, “I’m Nick’s little bro Aaron!” Everyone screamed really loud..lol Before he sang Shake It, he taught us the dance to it! We were all yelling, “Go Aaron! Go Aaron!” He did a one-handed cartwheel..and while singing Shake It..he’s like..Virginia likes to Shake It! After he was done performing he told us to go out and buy his album! After Aaron, was the next opening act, a girl group called SOAP. Then Jimmy Ray came out..I didn’t really like him though..lol. Then we had to wait for like and hour or 45 minutes ‘til BSB came out! Half-way in between the wait, their manager, Johnny Wright came out, and was like, “Are you ready to see the Backstreet Boys?” Then everyone started screaming really loud!lol He was talking about B-Rok wanting to buy a house somewhere in D.C. Then he was like, “How about B-Rok living in that big white house on Pennsylvania Ave.!(the White House)” Everyone was yelling and screaming so loud at that point..lol. And after he talked, during the waiting period..Nick kept peeking out from behind the curtain..I was waving at him..I doubt if he saw me though..but ya never know.lol! When he saw that people recognized him, and saw him peeking out from behind the curtain, he turned around and walked away..but he’d sit on a chair and still look out..lol! Finally, the band started playing That’s The Way I Like It. The curtain dropped and everyone was screaming sooo loud..it was unbearable! I could hardly hear the band!! They kept flashing the stage lights making us think BSB was coming out. Finally after they flashed it about five times..BSB popped out from these trap door things, and there was fireworks and pyro. I was screaming my head off..lol. I didn’t stop screaming the whole concert! They sang a bunch of songs..mostly the hits from the first album..and of course their solos. They sang Quit Playing Games, while playing instruments...which was awesome! During the concert..Nick kicked one of his shoes into the audience, and I was sooo jealous of whoever caught it. AJ humped the floor...lol. During Nick’s solo, Nick would flash his adorable smile, ‘cause he couldn’t sing for all of the screaming..lol. B-Rok threw a beach-ball into the audience too..and Howie threw roses during his solo..although I didn’t catch one. Kevin sounded soo awesome during his solo, and Brian thanked all of us for our prayers and support during his heart surgery. His solo made me cry. Nick..too much for words..lol. He was so beautiful, just standing there in the spotlight, singing his heart out..over all of the screaming fans..during his solo. During All I Have To Give, they did the hat routine. When they sang Anywhere For You, I cried, ‘cause it’s my fave song. During ALAYLM, they did the famous chair routine, which was awesome! Then they said their goodbyes and bowed..but they weren’t done! After a quick change of costumes, the boys came running out and performed Get Down(You’re The One for Me) and then they went right into We’ve Got It Goin’ On. They went backstage yet again, and the video for Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) started playing on the large screens. Then this grim-reaper guy came out w/ five coffins. They turned the coffins around and there were the 5 hottest guys in the universe! When Nick sang, Am I Sexual, he lifted his shirt, and I could see his boxers!! I almost died then and there..lol! They ended w/ a bang, the pyro. was awesome! They thanked us for coming and supporting them..told us “We love You,” and that they would be back..cuz Backstreet’s Back in ‘98! Then they ran off stage=*( I can’t wait to see their new concert..Into the Millenium! I’m ready to be marveled yet again by their wonderful dance moves, great special effects, and beautiful voices. They just keep getting bigger and better! KTBSPA!!
