FROM THE EAST
I am hoping that your summer has been filled with enjoyment. Please take a moment to think about our Brothers whose health has not allowed their summer to be so great. It would lift their spirits and help with their recovery if we could just take a moment to give them a call or drop them a card.
On another note, we finally got the numbers together from the Golf Tournament. We were able to raise $7018.00 for the children. Thanks so much for all you do.
Please remember our annual picnic September 20th at 5pm. I hope to see everyone there.

FROM THE SOUTH
Greetings and Welcome From the South,
Summer is rapidly approaching an end and Fall will be here before we know it. Just like the seasons, we as Masons need to change. We need to continuously interact with our lodge brothers to make friendships and provide support when needed. This constant change will ensure that our lodge grows stronger not only with our present membership, but, hopefully, with new membership. When people see other people gathering together for fellowship, charities, and general interaction, it makes them want to know "Why?" The "Why?" is what we want people to ask, so that we can encourage them to join us in our Masonic never ending pursuit for the betterment of Masons and mankind. Only when we work together as a group will we change as individuals. Our lodge meetings are still on the first and third Tuesdays of every month. If you have not been to a meeting in a while, come back to the meetings and help everyone make our changes the best they can be!!

CHAPLAIN'S CORNER
Brothers,
Two days after our last stated in July, I celebrated 48 years of Masonry as a member of Walnut Cove # 629. I was remembering those who were the active officers then. Brothers W F Marshall Sr., Chester "Check" Southern, Dr. O. G. Fritz, Jay Duncan, Paul Draughn(was Master when I was raised), J. Arthur Johnson held office and gave me First Degree Lecture, Paul the Second Degree Lecture and J. G. "June" Neal gave the Third Degree Lecture. Bud Shropshire was Secretary for many years. If not mistaken Brother Frankie Reynolds did my apron presentation. Jimmy Williams and Pee Wee Simmons were active but didn't hold office although Jimmy did the First Degree Lecture for brothers Frank Tilley and Max Brewer. So much for history.
I spent 12 of the last 18 days in Forsyth Hospital and the doctors
have told me I have the dreaded "C" word. I've driven trucks for 50
years and never drove on a perfectly smooth road so this is just another bump in my road. Catch another gear and keep on trucking. My
Doctor says with GOD, WE will WIN.
I do know that Brother Rubeck had
hip surgery.
GOD BLESS US AND ALL REGULAR MASONS
Chaplin Billy
