PRICINGS:-

Pricing is fair competitive compared to the services rendered which includes clean waste  handling using plastic bags and transporting away from the city center. You may pay for periods from one month, three months, six months, or twelve months (one year0.

MODE OF OPERATIONS:-

The garbage is put into big-liners (polythene bags)and then put outside the gate of the residence for easy collection by our field men . Collection is done daily between 7:00am and 4:00pm . The day of collection depends on the category and category selected . For big organizations  like restaurants, hotels, supermarkets and schools. Special arrangement is made and collection can be done from onside the gate or premises.

Upon collection from the premises of clients, the garbage is transported aboard trucks to the kampala City Council gazetted and owned dumping site at Mpererwe Land fill;
About 14 Km Northeast of Kampala city. At this point , the garbage is burnt for those that are in paper form while excavators of the kampala City council seal the rest.

The security at the dumping site is very tight that no unauthorized person is allowed entry into the dumping site with the aim of scavenging of the garbage. Therefore, the garbage that is put onto trucks from the client’s premise , are never seen on the stereets or in use by an other person say, for wrapping in the market place or otherwie. This is quite different and better compared to the private individuals and unregistered companies who collect garbage frm the unsuspecting public and dump in KCC’s Skips or roadsides  usually under the cover of darkness.

Field staffs that are involved with the direct collection of the garbage , wear thick material “over-ralls ,” gumboots for the feet, helmets and gloves to protect their heads and hands respectively. The field men are provided with the company’s identity cards and the uniforms carry company logo. While they are under orders not to enter clients’ premises, special arrangement are usually made for cases where the garbage is more than the number of bags provided as stated in 04) above.This is for large firms like hotels , schools , institutions of learning and parastatals. This shows more awareness to people who don’t know Bin-It Services.

By December 1999, the total estimate of waste generated in Kampalla was 1,000 tonnes of which only 30% is transported to the dumping site and of this, Bin-It Services collects 11% , Kampala City Council collects 17% while the remaining 25 is collected by other private companies.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PLAN:-

For future plan and development, Bin-It Services plans to introduce the usage of incinerators for paper –related wastes and recycling facilities for ecomposing waste into fertilizers. Glass materials and chemical waste will be taken to the appropriate firms. Plans are also underway to import new modern collection trucks and to expand to other towns like Jinja, Entebbe, Masaka and Mbale.

Most people in the suburbs of Kampla City are currently being rendered the services and they are quite satisfied with the quality services that are offered . Also clientele list is growing day by day . Inlight of the current prvatisation process by Kampala City Council (private companies or individuals have been called upon to participate fully) . Bin-It services intends to bid and be offered the trnder for refuse collection in the city. It also intends to operate other towns and districts of Uganda. With our experience and dedication , we feel confident in providing reliable, convenient and efficient services to residences and institutions to the people of Kampala and Uganda at large.
