Hot Shot Powerstack Install
What will I gain with this? The Hot Shot Powerstack with the K&N Filter allows your engine to breathe more freely. It rids your engine compartment of that ugly black plastic monstrosity, emits a wicked growl when you step on the gas, and gains approximately 8hp (SPS WebPage).

Place a chock block (4x4 10" long for me) or some other device to keep car from rolling, behind the rear wheels. Open hood and disconnect the negative battery cable.
Locate the clamp connecting the air intake duct to the Throttle Body. Loosen the clamp with a flat blade screwdriver. Pull the duct loose from the Throttle Body.
Remove the tube between the Valve Cover and the air intake duct.

Remove the plastic fastener holding the air cleaner assembly to the radiator support. (keep the fastener, you may loose one off of something else)
|
Maneuver the air cleaner assembly out of the engine bay.
Oil the K&N filter as directed, and set it aside to soak in. (If you bought the K&N Breather Filter, oil it also)
Place the silicone hose on the small end of the Powerstack. Slide one hose clamp on, and tighten.
Place the other hose clamp on the silicon hose, and tighten just enough to hold itself in place.
Slide the silicone hose, and the Powerstack over the Throttle Body, and tighten the hose clamp to secure it.
|
Unless you purchased a mounting bracket, the filter will rub on your battery tray, and or, your radiator hose. This WILL cause damage over time. I really suggest you shell out the $ for a bracket, or make one yourself
|
Make sure the whole assembly is tight and nothing is rubbing or out of place.
Reconnect the negative battery cable, and fire it up.
Go ahead and play with the throttle and listen to the music.
