SUSPENSION

Tires

Tires are the starting point for a high performance suspension. They are the connection between the car and the ground. If you skimp on tires then you will never be able to realize the full potential of your vehicle or its suspension system.

Springs

Springs are an extremely important part of your vehicles suspension system. Sport springs lower your car, thereby lowering its center of gravity. This makes it more stable in the turns. Sport springs are also usually stiffer than stock. This lessens body roll and keeps your cars weight evenly distributed through the twisties.

Struts

Lowering a vehicle puts added stress on the struts. If you go too low the struts can bottom out, and that would be bad. Stiffer springs have higher rebound and therefore mean that you will need struts with more dampening ability. Check with strut manufacturers for their recommendations for your springs.

Strut Tower Brace

Lowering a vehicle or using stiffer springs puts more stress on the vehicles frame. Your Saturn uses a unibody construction. Therefore it is not as strong as a full frame. To limit flex in the front end, it is a good idea to install a Strut Tower Brace. Ensure that the Strut Tower Brace you choose does not interfere with closing the hood. Also, some STB's make it difficult to open the oil cap on the cam cover.

Sway Bars

When the vehicle goes through  a corner, the inside wheel tries to lift because the car rolls to the outside. The sway bar links the front or rear wheels together and attempts to keep the car level.
