His eyes widened, anger running through his veins. "Meggie, Sweetie? Please tell someone. You can get him put away," Nick begged, his eyes pleading with her.

She shook her head."No, he didn't mean to. I just made him mad. It's my fault. He loves me," she said, sobbing loudly, feeling so dumb for actually believing what she was saying.

"No, you listen to me! None of this is your fault. Do you hear me? If he loved you, he wouldn't be doing this to you. This isn't love. Love isn't supposed to hurt!" Nick said, wiping each and every tear away.

"He tells me I'm worthless. I can't do any better, 'cause no one else would want me," Meggie said, controlling her tears. "And, it's true. Who else would want me? I mean, just look at me! He thought I was coming here to have sex with you! He thought I wanted you for your money, and for sex! How could he think I could be so shallow? Who else would want me??!"

"Oh no, Baby, you are not worthless! That is so far from the truth. Don't let anyone convince you you're worthless. Don't believe a word he says. He doesn't deserve you. You are the sweetest, nicest, most beautiful girl I know. Don't ever let him tell you no one could love you, because I do. I love you...so much it scares me," Nick said, cupping her face with his hands, wanting to take away all her pain. He hadn't intended to let that slip out, but he thought it would make her realize that she was loved...very much!
