Chapter 10

Nick and Meggie woke up at noon, exhausted from what they shared earlier that morning. "Nicky-Baby, will you come with me today? I wanna say good-bye to everyone, before I leave," Meggie asked, wanting Nick to accompany her.

"Yeah, of course I will babe," Nick said, smiling tiredly at her. They got ready, and left half an hour later. She said good-bye to all of her friends, and her parent's, which took about 3 hours. She saved the Carter's for last.

"MOM, BJ, LES, ANG, AARON, COULD YOU PLEASE ALL COME IN HERE?" Nick screamed. Once everyone was gathered together on the living room, Nick said; "Meggie has something she'd like to say."

Meggie looked at Nick for encouragement, and he smiled and nodded his head. "I love all you guys so much, but umm, I'm moving to Buffalo...tonight," Meggie said, awaiting Jane's reaction.

Nick waited until everyone got over the shock, before adding; "And, I'm moving into her house with Bri, to help Meg out." He smiled innocently, hoping not to make anyone mad.

"Oh well, this is a great day," Jane said, sarcastically. "First my little girl tells me she's moving across the country, and then my baby boy tells me he's moving out." She threw her hands up in frustration.

"Moooooom," Meggie and Nick both said, covering their faces in embarrassment.

"Well, Meggie we're all gonna miss you very much," Jane said, speaking for everyone. She smiled at Meggie, showing her she wasn't mad.

"And, I'm gonna miss ya'll too," Meggie said, tearing up. "Oh Mom, gimmie a hug." She wrapped her arms tightly on Jane, feeling like she was letting her family go. "0Well, BJ, Les, Angel; you guys are like the little sisters I never had, the best little sisters I've never had," Meggie said, hugging her 'little sisters'. "Aaron, you'll always be my little man, right?" Meggie asked. Aaron smiled, and nodded his head. Meggie picked him up, and hugged him tightly. "But you," Meggie said, pointing at Nick. "You'll always be mine, my best friend, and no one elses."

"You bet I will," Nick said, picking Meggie up, and squeezing her hard. "I love you," he whispered in her ear, not realizing his mom saw the affection between the two.

"Would you 2 please just kiss? Do it for your Mommy," Jane pleaded, hopefully. "Before you both leave me," she added, dramatically.

"Aww, Mom," Nick said, putting Meggie down, but keeping an arm around her waist.

"Nick, you really should listen to your mother," Meggie warned, smiling adorably at Nick, knowing he wouldn't refuse.

"But...oh, alright," Nick said, leaning over and kissing her, sweetly.

"There, now don't you feel better?" Jane asked, smiling at the two.

"No, how can I feel better when my bestest friend in the whole wide world is leaving me?" Nick complained, bowing his head down.

"Oh Nicky, I am so sorry," Meggie said, hugging him. "I better go start packing, but I'll call when I arrive in Buffalo. I love you all, very much."

"Good-bye Meggie, we love you too," Jane said, hugging Meggie again before she left.

"Wait up, I'll help you," Nick said, following Meggie, out the door.
