Falling for Popularity! Chapter 1!

The bell rang as my friends, and I exited our class, happily chatting about the news we had just recieved from our Geography teacher. In 2 months, the grade 12 class at Claire Walker Collegiate would be attending an all expenses paid 2 week long trip to Camp Winatonka.

Let me tell you a bit about myself. My name is Meghan Morrison, and I'm 18 years old. I have lived in Ruskin, Florida all my life and I loved it. My family was loaded, so we had a huge house, right off the lake. I was very popular, but I seriously hated to admit it. Lotsa people were afraid to talk to me. I tried so hard to convince everyone, that I didn't bite, but they just weren't convinced. Ahh well, I have a great group of friends. A little snobby to the unpopular students, but I never experienced that.

I was hurrying to my locker to get all my books, and such. I turned a corner, and bumped into someone who happened to be standing there. Books fell to the ground, as I looked to see who I had rammed into. Nick Carter. He was what my best friend called 'a geeky fag'.

"Oh Nick, I am so, so sorry. I was in a rush," I apoligized helping him pick up his books.

"No, I got them. Just don't yell at me, please. I'll do whatever you want, just don't yell. I'm sorry," Nick said, hoping not to get yelled at.

"Nick, please don't act like I'm a huge bitch. I ran into you. I am going to help you pick up what I caused, without any yelling," I said, handing him the rest of his books.

"Thank you, Meghan. I gotta long walk home, so I gotta go now," he said.

"No Nick, wait. Let me drive you. My way of making it up to you for bumping into you," I said, touching his arm to keep him in place.

"No, it's ok. I'll be fine," he assured me.

"No, it's not. Look at all your books. I'm not taking no for an answer. Just let me get my books and we'll be off," I said, leading himto my locker. He seemed a little hesitant, but I figured that was normal. "So, where abouts do you live?" I asked, trying to make conversation.

"Umm, I live on Russel Street," he said, figiting with his books.

"Really? I live off of Russel, on Stanley," I said, stuffing as many books into my bag as possible.

"Cool. I practicly live off the corner of Stanley. Here let me take your books for you," he said, grabbing my books.

I smiled at him. He was too sweet. "I couldn't let you do that. You have a billion books of your own," I said, attemting to take my books back.

"No, no, no. Your giving me a ride home, I can carry your books," he said, walking away, as I hurried after him.

"Well, I'm capable of taking at least some of our books," I said, after catching up to him.

"I never said you weren't. But, I am capable of taking both of ours, so don't worry your pretty little head," he said, smiling down at me.

"Your so complicated," I said, smiling at him as well.

"I'm gonna take that as a compliment," he said.

I giggled at him. "You know something? Your incredibly cute, especially when you smile. Your whole face lights up," I said, feeling my cheeks heat up. Hey! I was allowed to blush. I looked up to see Nick blushing as well.

"My face only does that when you're around, ya know that?" he said, suddenly interested in what shade of blue the shy happened to be.

"And, you're quite the charmer too," I said. "There's my car."

"Yeah, I know. You pass me everyday on the way to school, and on the way back," Nick said, quietly.

Now I felt bad. I hadn't even noticed seen him. "You shoulda hitch hiked, I woulda picked you up," I said going around to my door.

Nick smiled as he entered the car. "I'll remember that," he said, winking at me once I got in. "So, you and Ryan going out?"

I was a little surprised at the question. "Where'd you hear that?" I wondered, as I pulled out of the parking lot.

"Ryan went around telling everyone that you belonged to him, and if anyone even looked at you, they'd get the beats," he told me.

"Well, that explains why I haven't been asked out for weeks," I said, annoyed at the fact Ryan would go around telling people lies about me, especially since it seemed to be effecting my love life.

"You mean you guys aren't going out?" Nick asked, lookin at me funny.

"No, God no. We danced once at the 6th grade dance, and ever since then he thought he owns me. I swear, I am going to kill him," I said, banging my hand on the steering wheel.

"Please don't tell him I told you. He'd kill me," Nick begged, looking at me with puppy dog eyes. How could any girl resist?

"Nick, don't worry about it. I'll just say word get's around," I assured him, placing my hand on his leg for reassurance.

He smiled gratefully. "Thanks," he said, seeming almost nervous. "Oh, there's my place."

I pulled into his driveway, admiring his beautiful home. "There ya go. See ya at school tomorrow," I said, looking over at him.

"Yep. Thanks for the ride. Bye," Nick said, as he shut the door with his butt, considering his hands were full.

"What a sweetie," I said to myself, as I pulled out of the driveway.
