"It doesn't matter to me. Ladies choice," Nick said, politly, following her down the halls.
"You like pizza?" I asked him.
"My favorite," Nick said, rubbing his tummy.
"Alright, so Pizza Hut is ok?" I asked.
"Yep, it's perfect," he said, getting into my car, as I did the same.
"You got English after lunch, right?" I asked him, driving away.
"Uh huh, 'member, we have the same class?" he said, leaning back comfortably.
"Yeah, I know. I was just making sure. Can I ask you something?" I asked, wanting an answer to the question that has lingered in my mind for awhile now.
"Uhh, yeah, I guess," he said, nervously.
"How come sometimes you leave in between classes, and stuff?" I wondered.
"Oh, umm, well...," he said, tapping his foot nervously.
"Nicky, you can trust me," I said, sincerly.
"It's not just that. I'm afraid you'll laugh," he said, quietly.
"Hun, I would never laugh at you, unless you were laughing too. It can't be that bad," I urged.
"Ok, fine. My friends and I, well, we are in a singing group. You probably won't believe me when I say we are really big in Europe, but we are. We have an album released overseas, and in Canada, and we are beginning to record a US album," Nick said, after I had pulled into the parking lot.
"Nick, that's great!" I said, leaning over and hugging him. "What type of music do you sing?"
He blushed. "Pop," he said, quietly, as his stomach grumbled. "Oh God, that's embarressing."
I giggled. "Nick, don't worry about it. Stuff like that happens all the time," I told him, getting out of the car. "I'm sure you'll feel much better about the whole stomach growling thing after I tell you that you've had a booger hanging out of your nose for the past 5 minutes."
He turned around and stomped away. "Nick, I'm just playin' with ya. I just wanted to show you it could be worse," I said, as I walked after him. "Please don't be mad."
He turned around. "I'm not mad at you. Just don't do that again," he said.
"I promise. Now c'mon," I said, grabbing his hand. "You're hungry." He laughed and followed me.
