The Pact! Chapter 1!

~5 years later~

"I dunno Mrs. Morrison. I'm sorry, but we don't have any leads yet," the police officer told Meggie's mother, Pat.

"My daughter was beaten, and raped, amd you're telling me you don't know who did it?" she screamed.

"Please, calm down. As soon as Meggie wakes up, we plan on questioning her," the officer assured her.

"Pat? Oh, how is she?" Jane asked, rushing into the waiting room.

"The doctor said she's gonna have to stay here tonight and tomorrow. They have to run some tests, and they want to make sure she's fully recovered from the blow to the head she suffered," Pat told her friend.

"Did they find out who did it?" Jane wondered.

Pat glared at the officer. "Not yet," she said.

Just then, a beep echoed through out the waiting room. Jane looked down at her pager. "Oh, it's Nicky," she said, taking out her cell phone and turning it on then dialing Nick's cell phone number. "Hey Nicky," she said, once he had answered.

"Hey Mom, what's up?" Nick wondered.

"Sweetie, I'm at the hospital. Something's happened to Meggie," she warned her son.

"What happened to her? Is she ok?" he wondered, getting extremly worried. He hadn't talked to her in 2 years, and he was hoping nothing drastic and happened to her.

"Honey, she was beaten and raped. She was found in a beach," Jane said, afraid of how Nick was gonna react.

"What?!? Is she alive? Mom, please tell me she's still alive," Nick begged.

"Yes Nicky, she is. She has to remain in the hospital for a few days, but she should be fine," Jane informed her worried son.

"Thank God. Ma, I'm gonna come home, alright?" Nick said, breathing a sigh of relief.

"What?!? Nick, no. Why?" Jane wondered, worried about the tour.

"Yes, Mom. Because of the pact," he told her, looking down at his finger, and seeing the tiny scar the pact had left him with.

"Nick, you're not making any sense. What about the tour" Jane asked, knowing that everyone would be furious.

"That's the last thing on my mind right now. I'll explain to everyone, hopefully they'll understand. If not, then sucks to be them," he said, not caring about anything right now, except the health of Meggie.

Jane sighed. "Let me talk with Brian," she ordered.

"Hold on," he said, sighing.

"Hey Jane," Brian said, taking Nick's cell that was thrown at him.

"Brian, I want you to talk some sense into my boy," she said, hoping Brian could do it.

"No can do. Nick is packing, as we speak. If it helps, I'll go with him, since I am the more responsible mature one," Brian said, grinning when he saw the look of annoyance Nick gave him.

"Well, that doesn't help any, but maybe it is best that he has someone to stay with," she said.

"I really should go then, before Nick leaves without me. I'll see you in a few hours," he said, darting around the room, grabbing his clothes.

"Alright then, talk to ya later," Jane said, hanging up.
