Screams of Anger, and Tears of Betrayl! Chapter 5!

"Yeah, hi. I need 2 dozen roses, half red, and half white for Carter. I was told they'd be ready now," Nick said to the cashier at the flower shop.

The man scuried to the back, and returned with Nick's flowers. "And what whould you like on the card?" the man asked.

"Dearest Meggie, I hope you can find it on your heart to forgive me. Love, your Nick," he told the man. He paid for the flowers and left.

He drove to his house to see if Meggie was home. He didn't see her car, so he was guessing she went out with Meg like she had said earlier. He quickly slipped his key in the hole, and went into the house, and went upstairs. He placed the flowers on her bed, against her pillow. His pugs scampered in. "Ahh, it's my boys. And my girl," he said, playing with the pugs a little before leaving.

He pulled up in Bri's driveway, surprised to see Meggie's car there also. He smiled to himself. He hurried out, and jogged inside. He heard talking coming from outback. He went out and saw Meg and Brian in the pool, and Meggie sitting on the edge, her legs dangling in the water. He kicked off his sandals and left them on the deck, so he'd be able to dangle his feet in also. He sat down beside her, longing to hold her in his arms. "Hey," he said, softly.

She looked at him. "Hi," she said, quietly.

"How've you been?" Nick asked.

Meg and Bri looked over, seeing the 2 talking. They excused themselves, and went into the house.

"Alright, I guess. I could be better though," she said. "I got your message. I'll keep the pugs with me for now. They keep me company. Unless, you want them here," she said, running her fingers along the suface of the water, so she'd have something to concentrate on.

"No, it's fine. They can stay with you," Nick said. He hesitated and then grabbed her hand, needing to feel her touch.

"Nick, don't," Meggie said, starting to pull away.

"No, Meggie, please don't. I need you, more then anything. Please, I can't take it anymore. Just let me hold you, just for a few minutes. Please, let me do that," he begger, tears threatening to fall down his cheeks.

Tears had started down her cheeks long before. She didn't know what to do, which made her cry harder.

"Oh baby, c'mere," Nick said, pulling her into his strong arms. He allowed her to cry on his shoulder, as he rested his head on hers, crying as well. "Shh baby, please don't cry."

She calmed down after a few minutes. "I, uhh, better go now," Meggie said.

"No, baby wait. Could you please just stay, just a little longer?" Nick begged. "Please, babe?"

"Nick, I don't think--," Meggie started to say.

"Hey, you two. Get in here, we're gonna watch a movie," Meg screamed, from the door.

Meggie sighed, and got up. "Meg, I'm just gonna stay for the movie," Meggie told her friend.

"Alright, you don't hafta stay, if you don't wanna," Meg told her.

"Yeah, well my presense was requested," she said. She looked around the room, searching for a place to sit. Meg and Bri were sprawled out on the sofa, Tyk was napping in a chair, and Nick was sitting all by himself, on the love seat. Meggie sighed. "How convient," she said, as she took the only available seat next to Nick.

They watched 'I know what you did last summer' in silence, except for the occasional gasp fromt the girls. Once the movie was over, everyone got up and stretched. "I've seen that movie a trillion times, but I still cry when Barry dies. It's just such an emotional moment," Meggie said, grabbing her purse. "I guess I'll be going now."

"K, I'll call you tonight or tomorrow," Meg said.

"Yep, see ya," Meggie said, attempting to leave.

"Babe, wait," Nick said, chasing after her.

She hesitated before turning around. "Yes?" she asked.

"Umm, what are you doing?" Nick asked.

"I was planning on going hom actually," she said, slowly.

He laughed quietly to himself. "I know that, but I meant do you have any plans for tonight?" he asked, hoping she would say no.

"Actually, I do have a date with my VCR," she said.

"Mind if I join you?" he asked.

"Uhh, I guess not," she said, quietly. "You can come now if you like."

"K, I'll take my own car, so you don't have to take me home tonight," he said.

"Alright," she agreed, as Nick and her walked out to their cars.
