Wanting the Unwanted! Chapter 1!

"FATHER," Princess Meggie screamed, annoyed, through her castle. Once she found her father, she started screaming again. "WHO IS THIS IGNORANT MAN?"

"This, my dear daughter," King Alfonso said. "Is the possible future king, Sir Mario Vidal."

"You mean," the Princess started, horrified. "That he is a possibility to become my future husband?"

"Well yes, that's exactly it," the King beemed, as Mario stood there completly still.

"No, take him away this instant. I do not favour him in the least. He is too old, too rude, and way too stuck up to become ny husband," Meggie complained.

"WELL, I AM AFRAID THAT IT IS IN NO WAY, YOUR DECISION," the King screamed.

"FATHER, I HAVE TOLD YOU REPEATEDLY THAT IT IS MY DECISION WHO I LOVE. I CAN'T AND WON'T BE FORCED INTO A LOVE THAT COULD NEVER BE," Meggie screamed.

"You will accept who I choose for your husband," the King said, calming down. "Why can't you be more like your sister?"

"WHY? BECAUSE I AM THE ONLY ONE IN THIS PALACE THAT HAS THE GUTS TO STAND UP TO YOU. RAVEN, NOR MOTHER HAVE THE STREGTH, AND YOU KNOW THAT," Meggie yelled, storming off.

"Where are you off to?" Alfonso asked, after her.

"I'm leaving," she said, bluntly.

"Then I shall send a guard to attend to you," the King called.

"No, Father. I am not disabled, I'm capable of going out by myself," the Princess said.

"When shall we expect you back?" he asked.

"Hopefully, for my sake, not any time soon." She left without another sound. She had more then enough oney so she went off to buy normal looking clothes so she would fit in with the rest of the village. She hoped to go unnoticed. Soon night had fallen and the Princess still hadn't found a decent place to stay. She had thoughts of going back to the palace but decided against it when she rememberes the burden that waited there for her. She sobbed in a corner.

"Excuse me Miss. I can't help but notice your upset. I know you don't know me and I don't know you, but I can be a great listener," the young man said.

"Thank you for your kind words but I really don't think you'll believe me," she said, still whimpering a bit.

"Well, I'm up to the challenge," he said.

"Alright, but first, introduce yourself," Meggie said. "My name is Nickolas Gene Carter, but you can just call me Nick," he introduced.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Meggie Julia Jennifer Melissa Lawrence Thompson," the Princess said, shaking his hand.

"Wait a minute, isn't that the Princess' name?" he asked, confused.

"Indeed it is, and indeed I am," Meggie concluded.

"Well, it's a honor, your Highness," he said, bowing before her.

"Nick, please don't," Meggie pleaded.

"I'm sorry, so why are you here out of all places?" he asked.

"Well, can I trust in you?" Meggie asked, quietly.

"Yes, of course you can. Well actually, you don't even know me but yes, I promise you, you are able to trust me," Nick said, crossing his heart.

"Alright, the truth is I ran away. The time is coming for me to marry, so my father is trying to find what he claim's 'the perfect king'. Unfortunatly for me, they are all old and selfish. And I naturally don't like the canidates. My opinion is who better then myself to find someone for me to love?"

"You should really listen to your father. He loves you," Nick said.

"Why shall I listen to him when he doesn't listen to me?" Meggie asked, angerly.

"Alright, alright, don't yell at me. I totally agree with you, but it's not my decision," he said.

"I apoligize. I am taking it out on the person that deserves it the least," Meggie said.

"Have you tried talking to your father about it?" Nick wondered.

"Yes, but he's too hard headed to really listen. I don't know how many times I have just wished to be normal. To make my own decisions," Meggie complained. "Nick, what's it like being able to decide things on your own?"

"Well, it can get hard, but at least you know it's your decision," he said. "Come on, let's go."

"Where are we going?" Meggie asked, confused.

"Back to my place. You're not stayin' here and I don't think you're planning on going home, so you'll stay at my place. You'll meet my friends, make alot of decisions. You'll be livin' in the real world, babe," Nick said, pulling her up.

Meggie was surprised. No one had ever called her babe. "I don't know if that's a good idea. We just met. What if you're crazy or something?" Meggie said.

"Well, it's up to you. You decide," Nick said.

Meggie thought about it. Something about this guy just seemed safe. He had a warm and caring attitude. "Alright, let's go," she agreed.

"I never thought I would see the Princess dressed casually, but let me tell you, you're still beautiful," Nick complimented.

" Nick, stop, you're making me blush," Meggie said, hitting his arm playfully.

"I'm so sorry, but I only speak the truth," he said smiling.

"Thank you. You're not so bad yourself," she said. Nick smiled in return.
