Boyband Guide
Well I was at Walmart yesterday, and I noticed that on the review rack
(you know, where you can scan the code and see the Video for it) and
I saw the C-Note album and the 5ive album side by side. I had a couple of
minutes to kill, so I made a collection of boyband CD's and put them all
on the top rack..I'm sure the WalMart associates just loved cleaning that mess up
This little excursion gave me the idea to put all the hottest boybands, side
by side, on my page..kind of like your OWN WalMart review rack.
First things first...
*NSYNC
Tearin Up My Heart
For the Girl
God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You
We all know this CD. If you don't, then why are you even here anyway? This
is one of my all time favorite CD's, and not even because I'm obessed with them.
It's all around wholesome musical goodness...well except for Giddy UP.
*NSYNC has some fabulous harmonies (Live version of For the Girl, Oh Holy
Night) as well as upbeat songs that are too much fun to dance to. And
most of them make sense! I always say that *NSYNC is as R&B as Pop music can
get, with a little dance thrown in. If that makes any sense....
BSB
Quit Playin Games
All I Have To Give
I Want It That Way
Larger Than Life
We all know that Sarah and I are far from BSB fans. We do have their
first cd, and we used to listen to it every once in a while, for a good laugh ;-)
I personally can see a difference between *NSYNC and BSB. I'm not saying
it's better or worse, they are both good in their own rights..just different.
I think it's because of the famous "Backstreet Boys Beat" that is
in just about every song..even the slow ones. It's more dance than *NSYNC
with less complex harmonies. My opinion only. *BACKSTREET FANS: THIS
IS NOT A DISS. DID I SAY ANYWHERE IT'S NOT GOOD? NO. SO BACK OFF*
On to the new cd. I have only heard I Want it that way, and it's an
alright song. I listen, I sing along...I don't go into fits of screaming
when the opening notes play, so it's all good. But here is a
review
of it from We Like Girls,
which is the only BSB humor site that I visit. I respect her opinion as
an older, unbiased BSB fan. So there ya go.
Five
When the Lights Go Out
Slam Dunk (Da Funk)
Ahhh..Five. The charming Lad band from across the pond, here to steal our hearts. Or something
like that. What do I think of the Five album? It's trash. It's songs, picked
up out of the garbage, found some random guys to sing them, and put on a CD.
So why do I love it so much? I have no idea. But I really really do! Maybe
it's because I think there is nothing better in this world than white boys
rapping. Or maybe it's because it's happy, fun, and pop in the purest
sense of the word. Oh yeah..and those sexual innuedos are pretty keen too.
(Slam Dunk the Funk? uhh..yeah.)If I had to categorize this CD in
something other than pop, it would be Rap, cause there is alot of that on this album.
98*
Heat It Up
I Do (Cherish You)
Can I even say how obessed I am with these boys? AHEM. MEN?? I really am.
We are going to see them very soon, and possibly for a second time at
the WV state fair, so I'm very into 98* right now. And they are from Cincinnati
where we spend alot of time. They have the best love songs I have ever heard,
and my favorite songs in the world right now are Invisible Man and I Do.
They are the only group on here (except for 5ive) that aren't affiliated
with Transcon/Jonny Wright/Lou *ick* Pearlman--they have written a few of
their own songs too. I think 98* will be around after these other groups have dropped
off the face of the earth...they have a very r&b sound, and like I said before..
Love songs that can make you cry.
C-Note
Wait Till I Get Home
One Night With You
Spanish Fly
I Like
Ick. I am not a c-note fan. There is just something about this group that
grosses me out. When I was in Utah, Tara bought the single to prove that
there were some singles to buy. We put it in her car, listened to it once,
and then decided that it needed to be sent back with me to give to Sarah.
The songs aren't that good, and they are way too sexual, and not even in a cute
way. It would be categorized with a latin/pop sound.
Go Back!
