DRILL TEAM
Drill team is an exciting extension of the discipline, teamwork and leadership skills learned in class. The team performs at all JROTC ceremonies and parades, as well as at many community events. Teams can be male, female, or mixed. And when they participate in local, state, and national competitions, they confer as much pride on their schools as varsity sports teams.

GENERAL: JROTC drill teams are considered an excellent means of creating appropriate attention, publicity, and interest in the JROTC program and for maintaining a high state or morale.

MEMBERSHIP: Each school will organize and train a drill team consisting of approximately 10 cadets, including the drill team commander. All cadets are eligible for the drill team provided they:
a. Meet the requirements for participation in athletics or extracurricular activities for the WS/FCS.
b. Are outstanding cadets in JROTC.
c. Are approved by the SAI in coordination with the school principal.

COMPETITION: The SAI will take advantage of every opportunity to place his drill team in competition and public display. Drill team members and the entire team, if appropriate, should be used to demonstrate the standards of drill expected of all cadets. Competition rules will be prescribed for the various meets. Uniforms may be prescribed by each SAI. Any out of town trips must be approved by the school system, school principal, parent of each drill team member and by the SAI.
