YOU KNOW WHAT'S BEST

Lord, I know that You are faithful;
You know what's best for me.
I will trust Your loving kindness
For all eternity.
Power, strength and wisdom
Are traits that You possess.
Your all-seeing eyes are on me;
You hold me to Your breast.
You comfort when I'm hurting;
You meet my every need.
Rewarding with rich blessings
When I follow obediently.
A firm spanking from You, Father
Helps keep me in line.
But only because You love me;
This makes me know You're mine.
I praise You now, Lord Jesus!
My life is being blessed.
As I put my trust in Your hands,
I know You'll do what's best!

HIS PLAN

She felt so alone and in deep pain
Comfort was not to be found.
He offered His grace and His mercy
The Lord’s endless love did abound.
And yet…she still could not feel it
Angry and hurt that she was,
She yelled at the Father, “How could You?”
He whispered, My child, it’s because…
I HAVE A PLAN FOR YOU

She struggled and fought hard against Him;
Patiently He held on to her strong
Always gently and lovingly guiding
The way that He knew would prolong
The agony burning within her
Because He was teaching her how
To wait for His perfect timing
She didn’t need all of it now.
HE HAS A PLAN FOR HER

Slowly the wall that she’d built
Began falling down brick by brick
As His Word began to indwell her
And her heart the Holy Spirit did prick.
Knowing she’d need something special
To help bring her round to His way,
He sent to her One Precious Angel
And prodded her firmly, now pray…
I HAVE A PLAN FOR HER

Show her what I’ve been saying;
Reach out to her, help her to cope.
Tell her of my loving kindness
Give her a reason to hope.
Teach by your knowing example,
For I taught you this lesson before.
Show her that I have My reasons
And you’ve done this already and more.
I’VE HAD A PLAN FOR YOU

I know you were hurt when I took him.
But there is so much you can do
Having been through the hard pain of losing
A love so deep and so true.
Bob is so safe in my arms now
But you have I left you down below
To help and to nurture my seedlings
So they can continue to grow.
I HAVE A PLAN FOR YOU

Tears slipping softly from her eyes,
She whispered, “Oh God, I will do
Whatever You lay here before me;
Your servant I am…I love You.”
He pointed out a young woman
Trying to make sense of her pain.
The plan I’ve been working is hurting
She’ll need help for her strength to regain.
I HAVE A PLAN FOR HER

His Angel reached out in obedience
And lifted despair from the heart
Of the one He did guide to be near her
Jesus’ love she now did impart.
Till the young woman began to see daylight
And out of the gloom she did come,
Because one Blessed Obedient Angel
Had shown her what her God had done.
HE’D HAD A PLAN FOR HER

Thirty years she had had a great lover;
The last five were especially nice.
And even though he was no longer with her
She’d not trade a day for a price.
“God knows what He’s doing there, Sweet Cheeks,
On Him you can fully rely on.
And while you are learning to trust Him
You can use these old shoulders to cry on.”
HE HAS A PLAN FOR YOU

Slowly she blossomed and learned to
Trust Him again through the eyes,
Of one Blessed Obedient Angel
Who’d heard her heart-wrenching cries.
Together they formed a great friendship
A bond only family can share;
Knowing each woman had something
And it started with genuine care.
HE HAD A PLAN FOR THEM

This tribute I’ve written for you, Pat.
His love I have seen in your smile.
I know now that He never left me
That it was I who’d been gone for a while.
I feel for you the love of a daughter,
That I’m joyously glad to disclose.
You are the Angel He sent me from Heaven
To water this young, April Rose.
IT IS HIS PLAN FOR US

THE ROSE

The seed of my salvation
Was planted on rocky soil.
But a gentle rain fell
And the roots began to grow.
They reached further and further down,
Searching for the cool spring of life
That would make it grow strong.
But the pebbles made the search troublesome
As they wound their way to and fro,
Searching…ever searching.

The elements above began toiling about
Bending the stem, almost breaking it.
But the flower reached for the Son
Longing for His light and warmth,
Hoping to gain nourishment
To continue to grow.
But the soil was just too rocky,
The spring not to be found.
And the flower began to whither,
Its petals hit the ground.

Then the breeze began to gust
Tugging its seed from the center.
Blowing across the wayside
It landed in rich, dark soil.
Another gentle rain fell.
Once again the roots began to grow,
Deep into the earth they pushed
Finding the cool spring of life.
The stem grew strong and tall.
The flower began to bud,
It’s blossoms reaching for the Son.
Finding Him – a rose is born.

The rose is very beautiful,
Strong and healthy as well.
But still there are thorns on its stem.
The Gardener takes special care
To water and feed His creation,
Even pruning when it’s needed
So it will grow.
But the thorns are still there;
Showing its uniqueness,
Yet understanding its burden.
