Angel
Katie Smith
Once there was a girl with the problem of displaying emotions. In her world
this just would not do, so she was shunned. Her will was so strong that she
refused to give in to their ways, she refused to cry in front of them, let
them know her suffering or what was really in her heart. Instead she would
silently weep, at home in the dark all alone. One day she met another like
herself and she began to open up to him. This sudden flood of new feelings
weighed heavy on her soul, and that same very hand ended her life. Her finger
had pulled society's trigger and she lay slain. All of those she hated so
much had become the better of her. She knew only of one who would cry, for he
was the only one who truly loved her. A world she despised had crawled within
her mind and taken it captive, twisted its fiber and made her believe that
independence was a sin. The day she was to become one with the earth, she did
cry. For she watched from above, as the rain quietly fell into the hole that
was to become her future home. As she was slowly lowered down all was silent
and still, but she knew that he shed a tear, a single tear slid down his
cheek and became part of her. After all had left, he remained, to leave
behind a rose of red and a note that read: "I will always love the, my
dearest angel. You are the one who knows my soul, my thoughts and my pain. To
me you are the very universe. I wished to hold you forever and end eternity
as one." No one ever got to meet him, for he only existed to her. The
previous year he had met a similar fate and now lay beside her six feet below
the cold damp soil. They had both been lost so young but they found each
other just in time to say goodbye. They had both been the victims but they
also had each other, and that would be an eternity. Where both angels would
know a bit of happiness.
