On his second fight with Royce Gracie:
"We end up in the guard and from that point on it was a chess match. He goes for a leg choke, it ain't gonna happen. I wanted Royce Gracie to try everything he knew to try and beat me, and he tried different leg chokes and different armbars, but I had worked on this. And it was a test for Royce Gracie to try and beat Ken Shamrock and I'm gonna put him through a beatin'. His monkey ass has never seen anything like this, a beatin' like this. And as you know he never fought after this, and when he did it was exactly three years later and he got his ass choked out."
On the punch that connected in OT:
"I stuck him with the right hand. And as you see when he hits the ground , he's done. Right at that point and time, Royce Gracie's life will never be the same. That punch has destroyed Royce Gracie's warrior mentality. Look at his eyes, Royce Gracie is done. Royce Gracie will never be the warrior that he used to be. Royce Gracie will never, ever be the same because of that punch."
On his first fight with Dan Severn:
"I know that Dan was the favorite. And I'm thinking to myself, who are these people watching? So he won a few tournaments. Big Deal. Im the submission specialist, Im the striker, I have all the arsenal."
On Kimo:
"Well lets face it, Kimo, as the people saw and as I saw, beat the crap out of Royce Gracie. Royce Gracie was lucky that Kimo had a ponytail, or Kimo would have blasted him into next year... Kimo basically beat the monkey crap out of him."
On the Lions Den:
"I started a long time ago, getting fighters ready to fight NHB in Japan and here in the UFC. For instance, Jerry Bohlander, Guy Mezger, Tra. Frank Shamrock and my dad were around. Guys like Mikey Burnett. You got guys like Royce Gracie, Dan "The Beast" Severn, Don Frye, whatever he called himself at the time. You got all these guys that were in the octagon at that time, but you name one person who has started... uh RAW, the wrestling team. You name one team that has come into the octagon and had as much success as the Lion's Den. Every one of my guys has won their first fight and that just goes to show that the Lion's Den is at the top of the food chain."
The interview was filmed prior to the last UFC. Ken made no mention of plans to come back during this interview. Ken has made comments in other interviews that he plans on coming back to the UFC and that he would like to face Bas Rutten.
