The name BoB had been a popular name with us (only when spelled correctly), and was at one time used to represent an "omnipotent" being who controlled everything. We had been writing his name on foggy schoolbus windows for some time. So how about "BoB of the Bus?" Except BoB would now be the bus driver.
I'm not sure who suggested we write about BoB and his adventures with the schoolbus, but the idea took off and we wrote the story using all 20 vocabulary words. It was truly hilarious when we read it out loud in class. After a short time, I uploaded BoB of the Bus to an online forum, and within a week an editor of a small magazine wanted to know if he could publish the story! Yes, it's true, BoB of the Bus is a published work! I have the magazine to prove it! However, it was only a small, somewhat amateur magazine, so we didn't get rich or anything.
After the success of BoB of the Bus, we just kept on writing BoB stories. They are now all part of The BoB Anthology. Most of the stories draw elements from our experiences in Buncombe County and from watching Ken Bostic too much.
I hope you enjoy them!
