Goals of Leon Lee TEL

The funder of Leon Lee TEL, Leon Lee, is still a graduate student in the US. He knows what is the best telecommunication for the Chinese community. The goals of Leon Lee TEL:
LLT - The Birth of a discounted telecommunication
In Feb. 1993, Leon Lee returned to his home town - Kaohsiung, Taiwan, frustrated that his telephone charges last time when he was home exceeded US$3.50/min for phone call from Taiwan to US. It is not easy to be a graduate student in US as far as money is concerned and the average labor cost was about US$4.00/hour at the time in Kaohsiung. That kind of international phone rate is just not well justified. Ever since, Leon Lee has been out to look for reasonablely priced telecommunication services.

First he looked in callback service. Callback is based on the simple proposition that has long been known to itinerant Americans: it is cheaper to call from the United States than from anywhere else. To take advantage of this, savy Americans traveling overseas would place a collect call to their family in the U.S. who would decline the call. This would be a prompt for the family to return the call - thereby taking advantage of low U.S. rates. Callback has simply automated and economized this process.

He established Leon Lee TEL in Aug., 1996 and begin to market international callback - TerraCom program. Customers come from everywhere in the world due to the advantage of WWW. There are many Taiwanese students in US using this service since it save them about 25% to 40% for their family to call them from Taiwan. Some of them just use TerraCom program as a calling card in US. It is a success.

In Jan. 1997, Leon Lee TEL entered call card business as he found there is a LinkUp Calling Card service which provides the best, and reliable rate to China. There are many calling cards coming on and off on the markets. Many of the students, including Leon Lee, have lost money by buying some discounted PREPAID calling cards. Most of them, went under and we lost money. The marketing of Linkup calling card have helped many Chinese students who live in the dorm save lot of money on international phone calls. Currently, students from U. Mich, UNC-Chapel Hill, ES King Village of NCSU, Stanford U. U-MASS at Amherst, U. FL.. etc are using this service which gives us close to US$10,000 monthly volume.

In July, 1997, Leon Lee TEL began to maket dial-1 home service by teaming up with LCI, and GIS. Again, Leon Lee TEL will take advantage of WWW to market the home service through out the US in a very short time period. This will make Leon Lee TEL a one-stop world-wide telecommunication provider!

In Feb. 15, 1998, Leon Lee TEL began to offer Voice over internet (VOI) to Beijing.  This technology is new and provides a phone to phone convenient service at a very aggressive rate.  Less than 4 months, the produc obtained high usage through out the Chinese community.

In July, 1998, Leon Lee TEL and E-O communication began to offer phone to phone internet phone service to the entire Taiwan.  Combing billing, and credit card debit, the service is very popular.  The rate is $0.25 per minute.  This will be a hot product.
