The design philosophy behind these vehicles is mostly for flavor. I decided that the DPA is a mid-tech army, since they are a colony planet they have to make-do with second grade equipment (hence most of the Enhanced levels for ECM, etc.). The colony world also does not have the infrastructure to support Fusion plants, but the DPA wanted to go with the best power-plant available: Hydro-Magnetic Turbines. Chemical propellant projectile weapons are standard for this army. Small laser mounts are being developed, but have only come into use as air-to-air weaponry on aircraft or for ground-based air-defense systems.
