This Indenture made this the 23rd day of February 1876 by and Between Malachi POTTER and wife Betsy POTTER of the County and State aforesaid of the first Part and Alex CUTHRELL of the County of Beaufort And State aforesaid of The Second Part. Witnesseth, That the Said Parties of the first Part for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two Thousand Dollars, To Them in hand Paid by the Said party of the Second part the Receipt Whereof is hereby duly Acknowledged hath Bargained, Sold, Granted, and Conveyed, And by these presents doth Bargain Sell grant and Convey To The Said Alex CUTHRELL of the Second Part, A Certain Tract or Parcel of Land Situate in the County of Beaufort and State aforesaid and Lying on the West Side of South Creek adjoining the Lands of A. T. MIALL and others and bounded as follows. Beginning at the North West Corner of the SPENCER farm And Running North one Deg. East one hundred and five Poles, and three Links Thence South Eighty Nine East one Hundred and Twenty Nine Poles, and Eight Links, Thence South one Deg. West fifty five, and a half Poles, to a ditch Thence South Eighty Nine East Thirty five Poles and Seventeen Links Thence South one Deg. West fifty Three Poles to a Ditch Thence with Said ditch North Eighty Eight West one Hundred and Sixty five Poles to the Beginning Containing one Hundred acres
To Have and Hold the Said Premises With all the appurtenances thereto belonging unto him the Said Alex CUTHRELL his heirs and Assigns in fee Simple forever, and the Said Parties of The first part for Themselves their heirs and Assigns doth agree to warrant and defend the Said Premises unto the Said Alex CUTHRELL against the Claims or entry of any and all Persons whatsoever
