This Indenture made this 15th day of April In the year of our Lord one thousand and Eight Hundred and Twenty two Between Washington CARROWON of the State of North Carolina & County of Hyde of the one part and Reuben BENSON of the State & County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Washington CARROWON for the Consideration of one Thousand Dollars to him in hand paid before the ensealing & Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged have Given Granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents Doth Give Grant Bargain and Sell unto the Said Reuben BENSON A Certain peice parcel or tract of Land Lying & Situated in the County of Hyde on the Poplar Ridge Begining at the Begining of TURNERS of big patent at a black Gum Runing North with the Patent Line Twenty five Chains to the Line of the tract I bought of Manin CARROWON thence with Said Line East to the Middle Line in the Patent then with the Said Middle Line in the Patent South to the patent Line thence with the patent line West to the first Station Containing one hundred Acres To have and to hold the above tract of Land together with all the priviledges and Emoluments to the Same Belonging on in anywise Appertaining Warrant and Defend free and Clear from me hy heirs or assigns or any other person or persons Whatsoever Laying any Lawful Claim or Claims to the above mentioned tract or parcel of Land unto the Said Reuben BENSON his heirs or assigns forever In Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the Day and year above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of us

BENSON thence with Said Line West to the Middle Line in the patent thence with the Said Middle Line North to the Patent Line thence with the patent Line East to the first Station Containing Fifty Acres To have and to hold the above tract of Land together with all the priviledges and Emoluments to the Same Belonging or in any wise appertaining Will Warrant and Defend the Right and title of Said Land from me my heirs and Assigns or from the Lawful Claim of any other person or persons Whatever unto the Said Reuben BENSON his heirs or Assigns forever In Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the Day and year above Written

This Indenture made this the Twentieth day of April Eighteen Hundred & Twenty Nine Between G. W. CARROWON of the one part William CARROWON of the other part Witnesseth that for and in the consideration of the Sum of Eighty Dollars to me in [hand] paid before the ensealing and delivering of these presents for a Certain piece of Land cituate and lying betwen the Lands of Juniper Bay and the Lake being in William TURNERs Six Hundred and forty acre patent being on the west side of the middle line two Hundred poles from the South corner of the middle being a Lot of Land which the said G. W. CARROWON heired by the death of a Child, Runing West fifty three & one third poles thence north twenty five poles thence east to the middle line thence south with the middle line to the begining to include Eight & Two thirds of an acre of Land, To have and to [hold] the Said Land free & clear from me my heirs Executors Admrs. or assigns and from all other persons whatsoever laying any right or Claim here to the said William CARRON him his heirs Excrs.
