HYDE COUNTY


I William CARAWAN being in my proper sence and understanding able to dispose of my worldly property. I make this my Last Will & Testament. First I give unto my son Washington one hundred acres of land whereon I now live on the west side of the middle line of the pattent, and one feather bed and furniture and my bofat. - - -

Item, I give unto my son Mannins one hundred and twenty five acres of land on the East side of the Middle Line joining my son Washington's land out of a deed that I had of Alexander BENJANS and my negro woman Gin and one feather bed & furniture & my desk and as much timber of Washington's land as will build him a house and for two thousand cypress rails. - - And if my wife should have a male child at the birth she is now with, I give unto it twenty five acres of land on the west side of the Middle line the remainder of the deed that my son Mannins lives in (fifty acres), and also fifty acres in the North East corner of the patent, but if it should be a female child it shall the seventy 75 acres in the west side of the Middle Line joining my son Mannins, & my son Washington shall have the fifty acres in the North east corner of the Patent - - - & I give unto my two Daughters Fany & Sarah one hundred and twenty five acres down at the head of the creek.

And I give unto my son Green and my daughter Dorcus and my Daughter Elenor and my Elizabeth and my Daughter Mary one hundred dollars a peace, and all the rest of my estate both within and without after my lawful debts are paid I leave to my wife to raise her children on during her widowhood but of she should marry or die it shall be equally divided between her children and Manning. - - -

And I leave my son Green CARAWAN and Mitchel ROSE my whole and sole Executors to this my Last Will and Testament.
