This Indenture made this twenty fourth Day of October one Thousand Seven Hundred & ninety three between William CAROWAN of the State of North Carolina and County of Hide of the one part and Samuel SWINDLE and his wife Elenor my Daughter of the same State and County of the Other part know ye that I William CAROWAN for the love and Good Will that I bare to them both I Give and Grant unto Samuel SWINDELL and his wife Elenor A Sertain piece or parcel of Land Lying on the Easternmost Side of Swanquarter Bay on the East Side of my Ditch Beginning at the North and Westerd Corner of Cason SWINDELL's land on the Ditch Running With his Line to the Eastern End line of my pattent from thence as far uppon the land Line of my pattent to the North and Corner from thence running agreeable to the First Westerly to the Ditch and Corner from thence running with the Ditch to the First Station Containing of Fifty Acres of Land free and Clear from me and my heirs Executors and Administrators or Assigns or Any Other Persons Whatsoever unto Samuel SWINDELL and his wife Elenor and this heirs or assigns for them to dispose of as they should think fit. In Witness Whereof I Do hereunto set my hand and fix my Seal this 24th Day of October 1793

State No. Carolina -- Hyde County } Know all men by these presents that I William CARROWON of the aforesaid State and County have Bargained and Sold unto the said Rubin BENSON of the same state and County a certain Negro Wench by the Name of Sarah for the sum of sixty pounds for the Negro wench which I bought of him for David GREEN and I the said William CARROWON do warrant and forever defend the said Negro Wench free and clear from me and my heirs Executors and Administrators or Assigns or any other persons unto the said Rubin BENSON and his heirs Executors and Admrs. or Assigns to be his Right and property. In Witness hereof I do Set my hand and fix my Seal this 30th day of January 1794.

This indenture made this 25th day of September Seventeen hundred & Ninety five Between Rubin BENSON of the State of No. Carolina & County of Hyde of the one part and William CARROWON of the State and County aforesd. know ye that I Rubin BENSON do bargain and Sell unto the said William CARROWON a certain peice of Land Lying on the South Side of Mattamuskeet Lake Containing Seventy Eight Acres Beginning at the Mount of Old Slew runing a direct Course With this mark.d line Eighty poles to a certain Black Gum in the Back line of Caleb SWINDLEs Senr. Patent then with the back line one Hundred & Sixteen po. then a Direct Course with the first marked line Eight po. to the Lake & from thence to the first Station to Conclude fifty Eight Acres also Seventy Acres in a New Right which Land I the said Rubin BENSON do Warrant & forever defend free & Clear from me & my heirs Excrs. & Admrs. Or Assigns for ever for the Sum of five hundred Dollars to me in hand paid unto the Said William CARROWON & his heirs forever. Solomon REW doth Bargain & Sell unto the Said William CARROWON a certain peice or Parcel of Land Containing Six Acres more or Less lying & Being in the County of Hyde On the East side of Swan Quarter Bay being one half of the Land that my father Bought of John FORTISCUElying in the South East End of EASTERs Pattent, Begining at the Begining of his Pattent, for the Sum of twelve Dollars And I the Said Solomon REW do Warrant & Defend the Said Land free & Clear from me and my heirs Excrs. Admrs. or Assigns or any other person laying any Right or claim thereunto unto William CARROWON and his heirs Excrs. State of North Carolina ~ Hyde County } Know all men by these presents that I, William CARROWAN of the aforesaid County and state have bargained and sold unto the said Thomas BRIDGMAN of the same state and county a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being on the East side of Swan Quarter Bay for the sum of three hundred silver dollars beginning at the head of Long Point Cove at a post running up through the marsh to another post at the edge of the woods, then with a line of marked trees to the back line of MASONs patent Easterly to the corner, then with the said Zachariah JARVISs line down to the Oyster Creek, then with the windings of the water to the beginning, containing one hundred and twenty acres of land more or less which land I the said William CARROWAN do warrant and forever defend free and clear from me and my heirs, executors administrators and assigns and from all other persons whatsoever laying any right or claim thereto unto the said Thomas BRIDGMAN and his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever for him to improve as he shall think fit it witness hereof I do hereby set my hand and affix my seal this twenty ninth day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty in the presents of us

CARROWON have bargained and Sold unto the Said Green CARROWON a Certain peice or parcel of Land lying and being on the East Side of Swan Quarter bay in the County aforesaid -- Beginning at the Road and Running with the division line between William CARROWON & Job TULEY No. 50 Et. 170 Po. to the back Line of SMITH’s Patent then South 25 Et. to the Corner of SMITH’s Patent then So. 40 Wt. 222 Po. then No. 16 Wt. 70 Po. to EASTERs Line then with EASTERs Line down through the Marsh to the Creek, then with the ditch up to the Bridge at the Cross Road then with the Road to the westward to the beginning to Include One Hundred and Eight Acres with all privileges thereunto belonging for the Sum of Seven hundred Dollars to me in hand paid before the Sealing and delivery of these presents & I the Said Wm. CARROWON do warrant and forever defend the Said Bargained Land, free and Clear from me and my heirs Excrs. Admrs. & assigns and from all other person or persons whatsoever Laying any Claim thereunto unto the Said Green CARROWON and his heirs or Excrs. Admrs. or assigns – To Cultivate and improve as he or they shall see fit. In witness hereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this day and year above writen.
