Know all men by these presents that I, Edward ROSE of the county of Hyde, State of No. Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds to me in hand paid by Nathaniel TULEY younger, the receipt thereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey unto the said Nathaniel TULEY a certain negro woman named Betty - To have and to hold the said bargained slave unto the said Nathaniel TULEY younger his heirs and assigns and I the said Edward ROSE for myself my heirs and executors do warrant and defend the same. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 25th day of February, 1800.

Know all men by these presents that I, George FISHER, of the County of Hyde, and State of North Carolina, for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred pounds to me in hand paid by Edward ROSE of the County aforesaid, the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have bargained, sold and delivered and by these presents do bargain, sell and deliver unto the said Edward ROSE, a negro girl named Bettey, about nine years old, which said Negro I do bind myself to warrant and defend unto the said Edward ROSE his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, forever, against the lawful claim or claims of me, my heirs, executors and administrators, and all other persons whatsoever. Witness my hand and seal this 26th day November, 1801.
