According to Banister GIBBS' death certificate, he died April 10, 1915 and is buried Bayside, Beaufort County, North Carolina. However, family tradition states that he is buried in the Brooks-Midyett Cemetery in Gull Rock, NC where a tombstone marks his grave.
Banister GIBBS was born April 3, 1848 in Lake Landing, Hyde County, North Carolina. He married Sally Ann BROOKS, the daughter of Samuel Sheldon BROOKS and his wife, Penelope SWINDELL on January 12, 1871.

5. Max Edward GIBBS, born December 11, 1921. He married (1) Elizabeth WILSON. He married (2) Lily HARRISON. Max GIBBS died July 26, 1999.
6. Verna Amelia GIBBS, born March 19, 1925. She married Maxwell Mannen CARAWAN on June 21, 1946. Verna CARAWAN died September 11, 2000.
7. Calvin Coolidge GIBBS, born September 30, 1926. He married Elizabeth DOUGLAS on April 2, 1951. Calvin GIBBS died February 1978.
