State of North Carolina ~ Hyde County


This Deed made this third day of January, 1882, by Daniel M. WATSON & wife Zada L. WATSON of Hyde County and State of North Carolina & William M. ROSE of Hyde County and State of North Carolina Witnesseth: That said D. M. WATSON & wife Zada L. WATSON in consideration of the sum of Fifty Dollars to them paid by William M. ROSE, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain sell convey to said Wm. M. ROSE and to his heirs, a tract or parcel of land in Hyde County, State of North Carolina adjoining the land of Saml M. MANN on the North and James M. WATSON & others on the South side and others, bounded as follows, Viz: Beginning at the Lightwood Creek Canal Company's canal on the West side of the main road leading to Mount Pleasant and in the North devision line between the lands of Saml M. MANN and the lands sold by Burton H. SWINDELL to Israel BROOKS and Caleb F. BROOKS as per Deed dated Jany. 7th 1848 Regst. in Book No. 2 page 451. It being the land I bought of Sparrow M. PAYNE running South 80 West 44 poles more or less to the back patent line of the Anthony TOOLY Patent, thence South 31 ½ West 13 poles more or less, thence South 75 E 58 poles more or less, to the Lightwood Creek Canal & Mount Pleasant road, thence North with said canal & road to the Beginning, it being a part of the said Burton H. SWINDELL land & part of the land I bought of Sparrow M. PAYNE, containing seven acres more or less and this is intended to convey all my right, title and interest in the land that I bought of S. M. PAYNE that lays on the West side of Lightwood Creek Canal.

To have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land and all privilege and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said William M. ROSE and to his heirs and assigns to his only use and behoof. And the said D. M. WATSON & wife Zada L. WATSON covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee, and hath right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same are free from all incumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever.
