This Indenture made this Second day of February in the year of our Lord, one Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety, between Peter CARTER of the State of North Carolina and County of Hyde of the one part, & Jesse HARRIS of the Sd. State and County of the other part, Witnesseth that the Said Peter CARTER, for and in Consideration of the Sum of fifty Pounds Lawful Money to him in hand paid, at, or before the ensealing & Delivery of these presents, the Receipt whereof he Doth hereby acknowledged hath Bargained, Sold, and Conveyed, and By these presents doth Bargain, Sell, Convey, and Confirm unto the Sd. Jesse HARRIS his heirs or Assigns forever, a Certain peice or parcel of land, Situate in the County of Hyde lying and Being between Matchapungo Bluff and Ezekiel GREENs line, beginning at a Bay post one of Sd. Peter CARTERs Corners of his part of the land Containing the patent, which post stands in the first line of the pattent, 20 poles from the Beginning of the pattent Runing thence sd. 72 Wt. 30 poles along the pattent lines, thence with Said line No. 72 Et. 30 poles, and from thence to the first Station Containing one hundred and Twenty five Acres.
To have and to hold the Sd. Bargained land and premises together with all & Singular the privileges and Emoluments with the Same belonging, or anywise appertaining unto the Said Jesse HARRIS his heirs or Assigns to the only proper ways and behoof the Said Jesse HARRIS his heirs or Assigns for Ever Said and the Said Peter CARTER for him Self his heirs, or Assigns the Said Bargained and premises with the appertainances, unto the Said Jesse HARRIS his heirs or Assigns, Shall and will warrant & defend forever, by these presents against the Claim of any person or person What Ever, Claiming by, from, or under him the Said Peter CARTER his heirs or Assigns In Witness whereof the Sd. Peter CARTER hath here unto Set his hand & Seal this day and year above written
